Social Firefighters from Mexico aid Texas flood search and rescue: ‘There are no borders’

Amazing… Mexico showed up before FEMA

Well done

That's not what happened with the words. "Illegal immigrants" was never a term being as Historically, the United States has had "open borders" far longer than it had closed ones, and closed ones sprung up with increasing xenophobic sentiment. In the beginning it was towards Southern Europeans, specifically. It has changed over time with the "those people" flavor of whatever political climate, although anyone South of the border (and specifically those who are poor) having some of the most distinct discrimination. Thus, the stereotypical "illegal alien" everyone pictures is a Latino. Darker skin and cannot speak English. And this stereotype is currently informing the ICE profiling for the most part, and they're increasingly sucking at their actual job:

This is just a dishonest means of ethnically cleansing the US, nothing more. The term "undocumented immigrant" is more accurate. "Illegal" and "alien" were meant to inflammatory from the beginning. It's meant to leave no argumentative reprieve. If they are "illegal" then they have done crime (again crossing the border without papers is not a criminal offense but a civil infraction), from there the xenophobes can demand punishment as they seem appropriate, even if the person has no criminal record and has only ever helped the US. When leftists say they are "undocumented" which itself is only quasi-true because most are in processing (hence ICE grabbing them at Court Houses)z our solution is "well, document them then." When you do this the xenophobes frame it as if you're rewarding crime, which further reveals that they just dont want more Latinos here. The claim that they hist want everyone to "do it right" is debunked by their continued support for politicians who cripple that system.
Guess change place to place, we used to have clandestino (clandestine/illegal) as the most common term, then one side media started pushing for years to softer words

But technically is still proper word as we do have the crime of immigrazione clandestina, so who entered illegally or legally but stayed beyond granted permission is committing a crime (even if got recently depenalized in some ways due bureaucracy, as we're clown state with immense courts/trials backlog)

On american situation i don't know the legal path, but my 2cents even if retarded and purposely stricht if somebody chose to fuck it and enter anyway, the moment you give them papers you're indeed rewarding them to have fucked rules over those that waited to follow rules path

Latter group is more likely to follow laws (unless see illegals getting in anyway got them so angry they say fuck rules too), former group started fucking first rule they crossed and got prize for it

Does'nt matter if rules make sense or not, like if Slovenia tomorrow chose their rule is "not if you're shorter than 240cm", then rule is of course bs to say nobody, but their home their rules

Whole point of have nations is in theory have a territory ruled through vote by local citiziens

If majority of american voters asked for less latinos (can you tell me why? Americans just don't like that shade of brown or there are reasons?) around then lovely or not government running after latinos without legal permission to stay is technically doing what majority of american voters asked for

Is what i personally would do if i was Supreme Beak-Hand Emperor of Italy Bacco I?
No, i would do different, but i'm not the one that got elected there nor here lol

Meanwhile ICE invaded MacArthur Park a d terrorizes a summer camp.

Cant write this sh*t.

Tbf MacArthur park is prob a worse place to be than alligator Alcatraz. Deport those hombres imo.

Nah there is no definitive correlation between entering undocumented and breaking laws. Even undocumented immigrants are FAR less likely to commit crime than actual citizens are. This is because they dont want to get deported. So that mechanism actually works backwards.

Im not in favor of the concept of rewarding "illegal" behavior, however I dont demonize everyone going over a border without papers because I believe intent is a thing. See the propaganda here has people on the political right, and many centrists, convinced that asylum seekers are lying, and that because they crossed the border "illegally" they can use that to suppose malicious intent, which is absurd. Its textbook xenophobia.

I'd prefer to see mass amnesty, followed by an IMMEDIATE overhaul of the immigration system. There is 0, and I mean Z-E-R-O reason for anyone to be waiting longer than 3-5 years MAXIMUM for processing. Someone on a Visa should have a direct pathway to staying if they get a permanent job offer and have not violated laws. In fact if they come here and do well, part of the immigration process should be them being asked if they would like to become permanent residents.

These things have been proposed in the past and the loudest "just do it the right way" politicians are the most vehemently against these changes. So I've never once felt that contention was genuine, but just another way of feeding people I to the legal immigration bottle-neck that was formed by people who are terrified of demographic shifts.

I dont think a majority of Americans want what ICE is doing now. I havent personally broken down that "Americans want all illegals deported" poll being touted by the right, but I think it's already been broken down in another thread.

If you want to know why they want less Latinos just look up "Great Replacement" theory and realize that was a key factor in conservative propaganda and voting reasoning.

If that’s called an invasion what was the millions of unvetted people allowed in through border the last 4 years called?

We can at least hook up some protective masks

Yes, people should feel bad about the vehement demonization from people South of the border when their State readily accepts the help of people from South of the border. Its not a difficult concept to grasp unless you're wanting to make a concentrated effort to justify isolationism. Mexico has been vilified here for decades. They are offering help multiple times to US citizens in the middle of that vilification's peak and it definitely deserves mention
Nobody is demonizing Mexicans by wanting a secure border. Their authorities have crossed the border to help, and the U.S. has done the same. Coordinating efforts with officials across the border does not automatically make the idea of a border hypocritical. Mexico isn't vilified anywhere near as much as you claim. The U.S. brings in billions of dollars a year in tourism there too.

I made no comment about people being in the US illegally. It was a joke about how over eager ICE agents have been.

Holy fuck you are stupid.
Illegals are getting deported lol

Deport them when they're done.

Democrats seek ‘immediate answers’ after reported arrests of firefighters by US border agents

Senator Patty Murray calls Trump’s immigration policy ‘fundamentally sick’ after incident in Washington state

Dani Anguiano

Patty Murray, the Washington senator, has called for the Trump administration to provide “immediate answers” about reports that two firefighters were detained by border agents as they were responding to a wildfire in the state.

Federal immigration authorities on Wednesday staged an operation on the scene of the Bear Gulch fire, a nearly 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) blaze in the Olympic national forest, where they arrested two people who were part of a contract firefighting crew, the Seattle Times first reported. The fire is the largest currently burning in the state.

Authorities made the firefighters line up to show ID, the Seattle Times reported. One firefighter told the newspaper that they were not permitted to say goodbye to their detained colleagues.

“I asked them if his [co-workers] can say goodbye to him because they’re family, and they’re just ripping them away,” the firefighter said to the Seattle Times, adding that the federal agent swore and told the firefighter to leave.

The operation sparked widespread condemnation in the state. Murray in her statement released on Thursday morning demanded information about the whereabouts of the firefighters and the administration’s policy around immigration enforcement during wildfires.

The Trump administration’s immigration policy was “fundamentally sick”, Murray said. She continued: “Trump has wrongfully detained everyone from lawful green-card holders to American citizens – no one should assume this was necessary or appropriate.”

The US border patrol later on Thursday released some information on the operation, saying that it had assisted the Bureau of Land Management after that agency requested help after terminating contracts with two companies following a criminal investigation.

While verifying the identities of contract personnel, federal agents identified two people “present in the United States illegally”, the border patrol said in a statement, including one person who had a previous order of removal.

The agency did not provide more details about the nature of the criminal investigation and the identities of the firefighters have not been made public.

Authorities arrested the men on charges of illegal entry, and escorted 42 others off federal lands, according to the border patrol statement.

The US Forest Service said in a statement that it was aware of the border patrol operation and that the activities did not interfere with firefighting efforts.

Murray in her statement said the president had been undercutting firefighting abilities in other ways, including by “decimating” the US Forest Service. The administration significantly cut budgets and staffing at the agencies that manage much of the country’s federal lands, leaving the US unprepared for this year’s fire season, the Guardian previously reported.

“Here in the Pacific north-west, wildfires can [burn] and have burned entire towns to the ground. We count on our brave firefighters, who put their lives on the line, to keep our communities safe – this new Republican policy to detain firefighters on the job is as immoral as it is dangerous,” said Murray, who has represented Washington in the US Senate since 1993.

“What’s next? Will Trump start detaining immigrant service members? Or will he just maintain his current policy of deporting Purple Heart veterans?”

Nearly 430 personnel are responding to the Bear Gulch fire on the state’s Olympic peninsula. Firefighters told the Seattle Times that two contract crews had been sent to cut wood and were waiting for a supervisor when federal law enforcement arrived in the area.
