Finnegan's Wake

Standard if I remember correctly that is 300 lbs it said on the website. That would be hard...

Yeah i'm not going to try 300lbs anytime soon, i think 100 for reps wouldn't be too hard, maybe even 135 but that would be pushing it i think

Deadlift:

185 x 3
225 x 3
315 x 3
385 x 3

425 x 1
495 x 1 *beltless PR, chalk*
535 x 1 *Belt*
600 x 0
600 x 1, + 15 lbs PR

Impressions:
Here's the deal. I bought two types of booze. One: If I got the 600 lbs, I'd celebrate w/ Bushmill's Irish Whiskey, my favorite whiskey in the world. If I didn't I'd be stuck w/ Burnett's Sour Apple Vodka, 6.50 a bottle. That was my motivation here.
I know this much from watching the vid:

*My hips are nowhere near low enough.

*My grip is a bit too wide.

if you ignore my shaking legs, the bar still moves upward slowly, but does not stall too much or go down to much. If my legs were fresher, this wouldn't look nearly as bad as it did (i,e, if I hadn't worked all day before attempting this).

Total, this makes a 215 lbs increase in this lift this year, as I started out at 385 last winter.

Congrats on the lift, it was insane it looked like your legs were gonna break.

lmao thats insane and your huge and you look very frightening.

I don't worry about leg shake at this point. If I were doing squats, its a different story. I know what I can and cannot grind out.
Tonight, for instance, I knew my legs were going to be bastards. They are still sore from my GPP session this weekend + standing for 4 hours watching UFC 79 + walking 7-8 miles at work (hospitals are great for such things); so I wasn't suprised when the shaking started, but I've been there before and felt safe enough to complete the lift.

good progress for the year. better than avg i suspect since you were at a higher weight(385)

Yeah, I don't know what these people are talking about with all their stuff about "plateaus" and "sticking points."
*high fives Zero for defying reality as well*

Holy shit! I was honestly rooting for you at the end!! Well done Finnegan!!

Excellent work Finn. Congrats on the PR and Happ New year

people should understand how much harder yours was though. i gained 220lbs in this year but started at 275, thats a big damn difference from 385.

*bows to finny*

congratulations finny! You are one of the most hardcore lifters/fighters on S/P.

on a different note:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Finn, I'm moving down in the spring. For no other reason than the hopes that I might gain some of your strength from proximity.

Cool. Will you be of legal drinking age by that time?
