DS, I'm going for a Squat PR pretty soon. If I'm hoping to hit 405, would doing a walkout with 425 be something to do before hand?

Awesome. Thanks DS.
Good job, Alan. I'm going to the campus rec center today. If they have a rack, I'll give it a shot today. If not, it'll be later in the week when I get home.

You have until Thursday night to match, you can do it.

You found actual fight shorts at goodwill? Damn...and to think I had never actually gone in one. I may have to give it a try.

I'm going to compete in a PL comp in April. Training starts after a December 8th Judo tourney.
Basically 4 months to get my numbers up
I'm going to Coan it up big time.

^^^^^Gahhhh! I thought I was in Carnal's Pub, sorry 'bout that Finnagers.

pssttt Alan I got some gel to get you to 350 push press....

goodwill does have some good cheap shit there...as does Ross(dont know if it's a national store or not)...

I tried. No go. I'll try again later. I gothe 195 up, but 225 wasn't moving.
However, I did hit 405 back squat w/ no belt. The belt they gave me just kind of hung at my waist.
405 was the most I was willing to try w/o one. It went up easy enough. I'm geussing my max is prob. in the 425-450 range.
will do a full write up later.

very nice Finny. Your squat should very shortly reach 500.

did u take 400-500mg of caffeine prior to the workout?

USE a belt. Put it on as tight as you can get it..this should help a lot during push press....A LOT....have some1 get you a notch more than u can comfortably(or use a leverage of somesort [like a rack or something]...

When should I use my belt Devil? BIG PR's only? I was trying to stay away from it but also don't want to get injured..

Impressions:
Wow. This workout was done at Kent State University's gym. They have a sea of machines that spill out everywhere: along the track, by the pool; everywhere!
1 power rack
1 squat rack.
2 dip stations
2 pullup bars.

Anyway, I can now sympathize with you poor bastards who have to work out in gyms. The squat rack didn't even have any 45's near it. I had to take them off of machines and the endless row of benches loaded w/ 135.
The powerrack is bent, so the weights are at an angle.
They had two belts for back support, one ancient leather strap that I wouldn't trust to hold together my shoes let alone my torso, and a thin "fitness brace".
Also, no chalk allowed. No clanging weights too loudly. NO PROTEIN SHAKES IN THE EXERCISE AREA!
Dumbells went up to 95 lbs, but they didn't have any dumbells for free weights. What the fuck!
I can only hope their athletes have somewhere else to train.
Oh, and no deadlifting allowed, as its "too noisy."

As far as the workout itself, I was mostly just frustrated by all the little annoyances. The one thing they had was a dip belt, so I did some weighted dips with it. Much more comfortable than my logging chain, but not $80 more comfortable.
Overall, I give their weight room a 1 out of 10, and the one is only because it had a squat rack with enough free weights for me to use it. They also had Ivanko bars, which feel very different than my bars at home.
