Finnegan's Wake

I'll try to snap get a pic or vid next time I do them. So, I should narrow it a bit then?

With 495x5 I would think you could probably make 6 wheels your bitch. Nice work.

Hopefully. That is a good goal.
I told myself that once I hit 550, I'm buying an Inzer belt as a reward. After that, I'm probably going to switch to Zerchers for a bit. I like to keep my Zercher deadlift about 100lbs behind my conventional deadlift.
Also, squats are probably going to get more priority for awhile once I get the new rack.

On a normal Olympic bar i grip about 1-2" into the first set if knurling, which is pretty close to shoulder width which i think is pretty well standard. Nice nice DL's though, are the 5 reps all done like singles or as one single set?

They were done as a single set. The more I do this, the more I'm suprised I haven't hurt myself with bad form.

By single set I hope you mean you lifted the weight, put it down, and reset.

I lifted, put it down, did not let go of the bar, and picked it back up. I didn't bounce it, but I didn't readjust either.

beastly, looks like you should be able to do do 550-560 very soon, man.

Yea Finn I would move your arms in a bit, I put my arms just outside my legs. Would you really lose that much power doing it with a wide grip though? Now you guys got me thinking...

I don't know about losing power, but I definitely had a better grip on this one. Could be a few factors on that though, so I'm not sure the narrower hand placement was the reason.

I grip at the same width.

I put my legs just outside of my arms.

No you wouldn't lose power, as your arms are not meant for power when deadlifting. They are just meant to hang the bar from your body.
You would, however increase your ROM. Although that is usually a good thing, you would most likely decrease your lifting capacity.

With Finny's mad Zercher skillz, the increased ROM from having such a wide grip probably doesn't limit him as much as it would for others.

Very nice Finny. Did you get BA from bulk nutrition? I think you may notice big benefits with recovery. 32.99 hard to beat. Their chocamine deal is also great.

I need to reorder. I get mine from Trueprotein, but funds are extremely tight right now (going on a trip this weekend), so hopefully the sale is still going on.
the chocamine is interesting, as I may try your bulk powder RPM stack this go around.
Know of any place to get narangin or whatever the hell it is?

How's your push press coming Finn? I've been taking a break from it for a while now. Focusing on my strict press. Failing 225 so many times really pissed me off.

Stagnant, as usual. 205 is still the max for me. I've been switching it up a lot too and adding in tricep-heavy movements occasionally.
I'm getting better at the leg drive and hand position, but its still slow going. Elbow is getting stretched out more though.
With a strict press of 175, I may just have to build that up to 225 and be happy with that.
I've been listening to DevilsSon's advice and adding in reps to failure on my pressing as well. We see how it pays off.

We may be fucked. Zero just hit 225 PP today.

I'm going to try it again in a few days seeing as I have a week to match.

Shit. My next push day is in 5 days.

sigh.

Time for the cocaine.

Have any RPM left? Load up on that shit before going for it.

I have some Methyl Ripped lying around, I'm taking a handful an hour before my workout tomorrow. I'm getting this fucking thing once and for all

Have you tried using dumbells? With very little training (referring to barbell push press) I was able to push press 230 pounds. At the time I could clean and press 90 pound dumbells.

I do some dumbell overhead pressing, but only about once a month. That WAS my plan for the next session, but it looks like I'm going for a 225 push press instead...

My major problem w/ overhead pressing is an old elbow injury that does not allow me to get a good racked position for the press. Basically, I have to hold the bar about 3 inches in front of my chest, so I more or less have no leg drive. Couple that w/ just generally weak triceps and it does not bode well for me.

Alan: I've got a few caps left. The owner of my MMA school got in samples of RPM and Drive. I may "sample" some from him for this if I run out before then, which I most likely will.
