Finnegan's Wake

are you guys allowed back pushpresses? that may be an option. You should be able to hit 225 just keep your volume light before to stay fresh and make your attempt quick, rack drop and push. The longer you hold the weight out espeically with your arms the less drive you are going to get from your arms.

Alan agreed to allow me a back push due to my injury. I tried it. Hurt like hell and I couldn't get 185 up.
By drop, do you mean that you bastards have been dropping (like a mini jerk) before you push?!?! Why didn't anyone tell me about this?!

thats what a push press is. there are certain rules to a push press.

you can dip down and on your way up your foot cannot leave the ground but part of it can lift up. just not the whole foot/feet.

on the way up your knees cannot double bend at all.

Man, I want to get in on this! I just hit 215 this monday so I'd be ready to try for 225 next week. What's the rules you guys are playing by?

I thought was just leg drive, as in the bar still rested on you when you dipped for the push, not that it left your body and then you pushed.

And if you want to get in and think you can hit 225 after someone has already (possibly) won the comp within a week, just be careful what you wish for. Perhaps going the next weight up would be better.

I hit 215 for 2 and missed 2 extremely close ones. 225 isn't that scary for me right now...the bigger decision is should I forego 225 and go right for 235! [Evil dog from speed racer snicker]

I say go for 235 or higher. You are beyond us weaklings.

So were y'all racing to 225 or just progressing and happen to hit 225.

I don't know if I'd want to pass you though, you might zercher me.

We were racing to 225. Alan, Bama, and I have a week to match.

I doubt bama even remembers, hopefully he's a good sport when he loses

Thats the good thing about you being a mod. He has nowhere to run...

I got the 225. 6 methyl ripped, some rammstein, and pure hatred for Zero helped the lockout.

Iffy connection here in Ohio.
Devils'Son, (or other knowledgable people) what set/ rep scheme should I go for for the 225 PP attempt?

Also, did lots of good training today. Will update later.
