Finnegan's Wake

GymBoss is good. How the hell you been doin' intervals until now?

Also, another question: (sorry, short term memory loss, ya know..)

I remember you were doing some complex work, and I think you did Deads + (power?) Cleans, or was it Deads and Dynamic Rows?

Sorry to hear about your Thai pads man. A good set is critical, for me anyhow, and you just can't seem to win with those, eh?

I've done both, as far as the complexes go. For instance, I'd do:
Deadlift (heavy) on bar one, turn and do Dy-Rows (moderate) on bar two.
Same with cleans, just depended on what part of my back I wanted to hate me. I'd also complex sandbag shouldering occasionally.
Alternatively, I'd do BOR-Deadlift-Power Clean for 6 reps, using my 8 rep range for the cleans, as it was my lowest number out of those.

And out of everything else gear-wise that has literally fallen into my lap, I really shouldn't bitch too much.

I have been meaning to order Gymboss timer....sounds like a good tool...

good job with the conditioning challenge...i may give it a try saturday....

Gymboss looks fun. I can tell that I'm def. going to have to keep batteries around though, as it doesn't have an auto shut off if idle.

Shipped the kick pad back. I was tempted to keep it and order the thai pads in addition, but I really don't need it right now.

Fuck, you get it from Boomer? He should sponsor you.

Speaking of Sponsors, WTF happened to those RPM guys?

I've ask Boomer about that. He said he could give my team a wholesale account, but he needs the gym owner to contact him. Needless to say the gym owner has not contacted him.
I'm not sure about the RPM guys. I could shoot them an e-mail I guess.

Huh, gym owners. So lazy when it comes to that stuff.

I was just wondering about the appnu guys. Thy were everywhere here for awhile, then they vanished.

They made their money, answered the questions, and moved on to another board I'm sure. Glad they dropped by, though.

Tabata Interval Sledging (now w/ Gymboss)

Each round is 20 seconds work w/ 10 seconds rest

Rd 1: 8 lbs hammer
Rd 2: 10 lbs hammer
Rd 3: 12 lbs one handed hammer
Rd 4: 16 lbs hammer
Rd 5: 8 lbs hammer
Rd 6: 10 lbs hammer
Rd 7: 12 lbs hammer
Rd 8: 16 lbs hammer

Averaged over 20 swings per round on all weights. Lowest was 19 during second session of th 12.
Impressions:
Hmm. Tabata sledging alone didn't do it for me. Not breathing hard, barely broke a sweat. Time to switch it up. The Gymboss is loud enough and easy enough to program. 20 bucks well spent, and it frees up my boombox so I don't have to listen to a tabata mp3 I burned onto a CD.

Change up the intervals.

24:8 for the 3-1 ratio. Actually if you're fighting 3min rounds, thats 9 minutes total, with only 2 minutes rest.

So;
27:6 or 36:8 would be better

Good idea. I've never had that option before. I'll have to play around with it. Thanks.

Also, I think I mentioned alternating between sledgehammer and burpees :D...

That's just twisted....

in a good way, of course.

I saw Iron Man finally. You AV is no longer a mystery Finn.

I had to do a circuit once that was very similar to what I mentioned. Sledge 10x, pick up 75lb water ball (which isn't filled to capacity), carry it about 3yds away, drop it and do 10 burpees, pick the ball back up and carry it over to sledge and tire. Repeat 10-15x for time, no rest.

Keep up to work Finn... Look forward to reading about all your madness and sweat sessions...(That sounds so dirty)

Oh yeah,
Gear Purchased:
Rowing Machine for 5 bucks at Goodwill. Fun times ahead, for sure.

And like I said guys, this log is more or less going dormant for the most part. I've been doing plenty, just don't want it out there for a poss. opponent to see. Lots of conditioning, circuits, fight training, etc. My workouts will be scattered amongst the training logs.
The usual.
