Champs get the choice. High Base pay and no PPV points or Lower Base pay and PPV Points. Obviously he is trying to double dip. He picked the high bonus pay and 2 fights in he wants PPV on top of it.

The buy setup has traditionally been $1 for each buy between 200,000 and 400,000 buys, $2 per buy between 400,000 and 600,000 buys, and $2.50 per buy over 600,000 buys. Those low buy PPV's for manlets don't net hardly anything.

That's why goal #1 becomes get PPV points. Then secret goal #2 becomes get on a card with someone who actually draws.

Walid(His manager for those that don't know) taking a big big L how do you not negotiate for PPV points... UFC was desperate as hell for a PPV worthy main event that was the perfect time to negotiate PPV points....

MM chose to not get PPV points because he knew he didn’t sell enough PPV, so he got a higher fixed salary instead.

Would have had to be negotiated in when the contract was first written up his manager fucked him. I don't thin UFC just "adds" to contracts he's screwed until next time.

I don’t know his PPV numbers off hand, but I think he deserves it. But I think that model is dead save for the TOP guys. The UFC does get an undisclosed percentage of any PPVs sold above 500k, but they’re not trying to share that with every champ. All this complaining about fighter pay escalated after the ESPN deal because WME got even tighter with the money. It sucks for the fighters which is why the UFC shilling on Sherdog annoys the piss out of me.

Sadly these "managers" are little more than corporate spies working for their own survival in cahoots with the UFC knowing there is barely another competitor and unlike real sports leagues, the UFC has just one owner, not 30 bidding for a fighter's services.
Managers know as long as they keep signing fighters to their companies and Dana knowing he'll do business with the manager, are more likely to bend over for one fighter knowing they get a %cut of 50+ different disposable fighters over a decade, instead of playing hardball for 2-3 guys and then Dana blackballing them from the UFC.
