I was kind of dissapointed the route MK went down from the early games and hopped off the bandwagon.

The original game was SHOCKING to see in arcades as a teenager.

And they were really wasnt any goofy stuff going on it.

Mortal Kombat II improved in almost every way....

BUT

They also put in really stupid goofy shit like babalities and friendships and other stupid shit that imo detracted from the vibe the game had.

MK III was just really boring in comparison. Some cool new characters but the look and stages were really drab and boring.

Went 3d after that and it looked stupid and it was never the deepest fighting game anyway so i hopped off.

The friendships were created to mock the controversy surrounding the fatalities in the original MK.
 
After labbing and going some work, Terry is less than than I originally thought, but I still don't think he's great. He has some really fun corner combos, but his walk speed is terrible, his normals kinda suck, his conversions aren't spectacular, and he doesnt have a ton of oki options.

Anyway this is a GOAT game in alot of ways but the computer is fuckin stupid hard. Good luck landing projectiles lol

What are your fav examples of characters being based on real fighters/Wrestlers?

Balrog (Mike Tyson)
Fei Long (Bruce Lee)
Liu Kang (also Bruce Lee)
Abel (Fedor Emelianenko)
Zangief (Victor Zangief)
Big Bear/Raiden (Big Van Vader)
Haohmaru (Musashi)
Ukyo Tachibana (Sasaki Kojiro)

Etc etc
 
Ok i just beat every Samurai showdown game in the collection.

The last three games are WAY TOO EASY.

The fun of these games was in big part due to the high stakes difficulty.

They also just seemed to get bored of making cool final bosses and just throw Amakusa out there.

I guess its not so different from Street fighter and M. Bison but after seeing them get progressivley harder, I was hoping to see some new ones.

once Gief wins Evo (most recent SF title, i know Snake won a side tournament there) or Capcom Cup then i'll admit Gief needs nerfs or is good

also him being 43 is insane, plus his controller is amazing as well
 
I know people are bitching about Tekken 8 but I'm still having fun... when I actually find a match that is.

Mainly just been trying out the DLC characters. I hadn't played since before Eddy was released and then remembered I was gifted the Ultimate Edition so I reinstalled it to try them out.

I'd like to get good with Heihachi but I'm terrible with Mishimas lol.
