Fighting Games Discussion

Anyone ever play this awesome game in the late 80”s ?

Renegade , was way ahead of its time great music , and was the prototype for Double Dragon . It had really cool stuff in such a short simplistic game it only had 4/5 levels you had to beat the gangs long enough then the boss would jump in , it features Subway things , motorcycle gangs , hookers , pimps and knife wielding thugs , showed blood as well and clear voices which was rare fir fighting games then .

One cool thing is you could get on top of the bad guys and pound the day lights out of them and use the edge of the screen to flip them over and kill them .

The third stage is hilarious it features hookers and a huge one named Kim who’s large and towers over you ,she slaps the Shyte out if you and tosses you as she mocks you , she’s one of the craziest bosses in game history I spent a lot of quarters on her bf I learned you have to run away and back kick her timing it right over and over again, as she ran at you until her energy was near empty then pound the Shyte out of her on top of her .The player on here makes the game look easier then it was . lol

It's not a beat-em-up, but yes Renegade (Nekketsu Koha Kunio Kun) was the original "belt scroller" beat-em-up. Too bad the sequel was crap, but Technos had nothing to do with that game.

Itabashi eliminated from EWC. He used Marissa against Blaz's Ryu. Didn't even bust out the Gief

Cool to see a Dhalsim make top 8 (Mochi made it, torimeshi was eliminated)

Alright, pack it up boys: Evo is no longer cool as Saudi Arabia takes over

"Remember that seemingly dull press release from a few weeks ago that said Sony Interactive Entertainment is selling its stake in Evo? Well, that just became a total nightmare. Saudi Arabia has now set its sights on the fighting game community as it continues to kill the spirit of esports, this time taking over the largest FGC event in the world.

Saudi Arabian company Qiddiya has now fully acquired Evo’s operator, RTS, an esports talent management consultancy that was founded back in 2022. The horrific update was revealed on the most soulless of all social platforms, LinkedIn.

Threatened Qiddiya Chief Strategy Officer Muhannad Aldawood: “Excited to share that Qiddiya has acquired full ownership of RTS, a strategic step that will further strengthen our esports business and unlock new opportunities acrsos the broader gaming ecosystem.

“This milestone paves the way for setting new heights in the evolution of Evo toward achieving the aspirations of the fighting game community.”

It's a clickbait title, but Saudi Arabia DID indeed purchase EVO.

Hopefully Evo doesnt suck anymore

Birdie needs a black leather vest. :)
I agree, tried the only we have but looked terrible on him (the item itself is super cheap like lot of WTM stuff)
So i end up do the shirtless look because looked still close to SFV and we have some precedents for it

So i end up mix a bit his SFV default with that

Yeah, I don't worry about it being "cool". I just want it to keep going.
I thought that was a joke since Saudi Arabia is hot as fuck. Either way I also don’t really care for the Saudis. They had to put in those dumb guest characters in KoF so I hope they have a more hands off approach. My issue with them is they are the type of people (referring to the elites of course) that have no class when it comes to money. A lot of events I’ve seen from them come across as trying way too hard. At least production value will be nuts
