Seans st.mp is 0 on block, his st.fierce (a good whiff punish move) is -4 at best on block (every top tier super punishes on hit or whiff btw lmao), clst.fierce is also -2 on hit and -4 on block, meaning short short super punish for 1/2 of the cast, and to top it off his cr.mk is -3 on hit and -4 on block and his ghetto fireball is like -30 or something stupid, you don't even need to parry or red parry punish. Sean is that bad.

3rd Strike's tiers are largely defined by what characters can and cant do off of parry, or their reward for it. So when you're playing neutral, the top characters in generaal have better punishes.
I think parry and punishes generally are what allow Sean to be somewhat viable(as in high level players do exist), he does have pretty good damage potential in those situations plus parry opens up jump ins much more than most games. His weakness is more that he has very limited options on offence himself as a lot of his normals and all of his specials are unsafe. 12 I'd say ends up the opposite, has a lot of options to pick away at people in neutral but lacks much in the way of punishes besides super(which still isnt that great damage wise given the meter size)

Tweleve's biggest issue is his best moves are air to air and he doesnt have an invincible reversal or SGGK. So on wake up he's pretty free regardless. His moves aren't good enough or fast enough to zone and a lot of the cast has a way to clear the screen outside of parry. Chun/Yun/Ken/Akuma/Dudley/Urien/Yang/Makoto/Oro/Alex/Ryu all have options to close ground quickly. Ironically enough though, when Chun doesnt have meter 12 has an advantage against her. The problem is Chun's guaranteed 1 bar per round, so she has the advantage.

Sean is viable in a vacuum, like, can build meter and you properly hit confirm everything. Unfortunately that just doesn't happen, and his reward even if he's played in said vacuum isnt as high as everyone else. He's just bad across the board. From what he was in 2I to 3S is night and day. I think they just didnt want him being as stupid so they made him a total gimmick.

What higher level 12's exist tend to be more hit and run than standard zoning depending heavily on his mobility via air dashing. He does I think have a lot of good normals(and some specials) to pick away at range with but again lacks much serious damage potential outside of SA1 and even that doesnt do enough relative to the bar lenght for it to play a role similar to Chun' SA2.

As you say he does end up a pretty decent matchup vs Chun, not favoured but overperforms relative to his status.

yes, his normals aren't really great and he doesnt have a lot of moves that cancel into his specials, so he's limited at close/mid range. 12 is actually competitive somewhat, like Remy. Both are significantly better than Sean who gets punished for existing in any given match up.

I think Remy is a level above those two personally, has at least one player considered among the best in the world and quite often played at high level. Gets compared to Guile a lot but really not played in the same way, Cold Blue kick especially very different tool to classic Guile.

Generally with Third Strike I think the differences between tiers actually stand out more in terms of skill floor than skill ceiling, to get to a decent level with Remy is much harder than Chun but the higher level you go the closer they get.

Played Tekken 3 long time ago and forgot how hard this game is. Tekken 8 hype is driving me crazy, playing demo all the time and enjoying. However i know once it comes to real players it will be whole new experience and struggle. I can beat CPU hardest difficulty and Ghost with highest points so i might be more than beginner.

If any experienced Tekken player here have yt suggestions for me to learn more about important things, movement, frames, combos and other things please share 👊👊

I think you can still get a lot of mileage out of this playlist on YouTube. It's made for Tekken 7, so there will differences in mechanics and some move sets, but the principals and ideas presented are fairly universal amongst Tekken games. Tekken 8 is still new, so idk of any channels that have made proper guides on the fine details of the gameplay or any characters. Massive Zug will be a good channel to check on after the full release though. He doesn't put out content a lot, but when he does, it is high quality.

I am always happy to help! JoeyTCB isn't me (he's a pro player from the UK iirc), I happened to come across his playlist while searching for Asuka's combo string counters after a lengthy session of getting steamrolled by them haha. I hope that playlist helps you as much as it has helped me over the years!

I think it's hard to win at a high level in 3rd Strike, hell, any fighting game. It's hard to be a top player period. It's just easier/harder to get consistency depending on the character at a higher level.

Tekken 8 looking nice in the early batch of reviews. Hovering around 8s and 9s with big positives on the gameplay.

Might give it a try now that I'm feeling like I hit the wall in terms of things to do with Mortal Kombat 1.

It’s got a bunch of 10s too. 91 is the score after 70 reviews. That’s really high. I won’t be there day one but I will pick it up sometime this year when there’s not so much stuff out, I do think this game really hurts MK1. It will attract more casuals with all the content it is offering

No clue why i put 8s and 9s when I meant 9s and 10s lol woke up tired and never recovered. Tekken and Infinite Wealth killed it review wise today, might end up picking up both.
