First of all I’ll state that I actually scored the fight for Thompson. Being said it was very minimal. Watching on tv I see the best angles so Thompson’s nuanced counters were noticeable. However being there you could have easily missed them. Plus the crowd went crazy for anything Till did so in a fight like that it’d inevitably skew judges opinion.

Is anyone else sick of fighters and their corners just assuming they are winning and coasting through rounds with no urgency? Both guys looked as if they had a few more rounds left in them so I can’t really feel too much sympathy.

Granted had Khabib taken Rd 3 off against Barboza for instance it’d be slightly different since it was clear to everyone he won rd1 and 2.

You’d think Wonderboy would be aware of this because of the two Woodley fights where he thought he’d done enough.

...deserve what they get...

When you play that game, it's always a risk. Win or lose, it only hurts your stock though. Thompson loses 2 straight and he'll get his papers. Hell, he could get them on a winning streak honestly. Went from the most exciting guy to watch to.......this. I get that the competition has stiffened, but he takes zero risk and just hopes for an opening that never materializes.

what bothers me the most as a fan of Wonderboy is that in my opinion just a little bit more action from him could win those fights for him. he could have been champion by now just by being a little bit more active.

I know it's easier said, much harder done, but the history is repeating as we see. he really has to be more agressive.

No different to a football team playing from their own half with 11 men behind the ball to defend a 1 goal lead, only to concede a late equalizer. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The most famous case was in boxing with DLH/Tito Trinidad.

Oscar dominated the fight for 9 rounds, then decided to run and take the last 3 rounds off. Then they fucked him over and gave Tito the decision.

Everyone's favourite along with fighters bragging about how huge they are then failing to weigh in, and dudes taunting then getting KTFO.

hendricks beating up gsp and lawler and somehow lost
