Fighters body fat

Yeah I'm sure Mark Munzs did that transformation without the help of any PED's.

Unheard of bro, All natural. The guy at my supplement place told me you can get like that in 6 weeks if you buy the appropriate natural supplements.

some fighters like having a layer for protection. I never bought into the concept m'self.

Never heard of skinny fat? :P It's where you're thin/small bone structured but you have a nice little pudge :D

Then the problem is you just have no muscle. And looking at what you say is your routine, not a surprise. You're apparently dieting and doing way too much cardio while you're trying to lift. Bulk first and take all that cardio out of your routine. Its preventing you from making progress.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but didn't Munoz lose all that weight in 6 months, rather than " a couple months"?

I've lost 30 pounds in 3 months so far. My goal was to lose 60 pounds, I'm already half way there. Munoz had to lose 60 too, right? I forget the details... if anyone would enlighten me, please do so.

I fucking bust my ass off in the gym trying to lose the "daddy fat" from having twins (not birthing twins, ya twits). You might laugh at me but that shit is hard, lol.

I'm not currently trying to gain muscle. I'm only 5'10 so i'm trying to stay around 155 for competition. That being said, it's not that i'm weak... As I said my numbers are great for my size lol It's just genetics.

How exactly does your missus having twins make you fat? Most bizarre excuse ever...

5 foot 10 and 155 is too skinny. Its not genetics, you just dont have muscle like the other guy said.

well, i might think losing fat is important thing in a pro athlete, how is possible they just dont care?

Because it is not always good to be too muscular, especially in martial arts.

Muscles burns energy. Too muscular burns energy too fast - and fight sports are not purely anaerobic exercises.

That's why a lot of martial artist you see are fit yet are not necessarily super-defined.

155 is NOT too skinny if one is trained. 5'10" fighters usually don't fight at 170 or 185 unless you are very big boned, because most of them will be at 6' plus and you'll be disadvantaged.

I'm 5'10" and at 183-5ish and I'm already too heavy for my height my trainer says, which I tend to agree because my cardio can't compare to someone same height at 160ish even though we train the same amount - energy gets burned too fast.

Idk man... I don't know how I don't have muscle lol Not meaning to sound like i'm bragging but some of my numbers are

Bench 255
Deadlifts 405 max
Squats 305 (won't go over cuz i don't want to risk injury/failure, no idea what I could max)
Shrugs 405

Other notable lifts
Weighted pull ups 5X10 @+70
Weighted dips 5X12 @+70

I feel like I put up great numbers for someone who'd come in at LW(or possibly even FW) but I am nowhere near a 6 pac. I really think it's just genetics.

You won't understand until you become a parent yourself, especially of twins. You get too little sleep, too exhausted to go to the gym. Last thing you want to do is go out and exercise when you could catch up on sleep.

I laugh at parents who whine about 1 child. You know nothing until you deal with this lol.

Edit: I am definitely not saying you can't stay skinny as a parent. every person's body is different. I got very tired and turned out I had thyroid cancer which made me bloat due to fatigue. Now that I'm on balanced medicine I feel stronger and more energetic to go and work out, that definitely played a factor.

you said you have high body fat percentage. You also said you are around 155 and youre 5 foot 10. skinny + high bodyfat = no muscle.

Do you lift?

I used to do that a lot that's the problem - got too bulked up and ruined my cardio when I started training martial arts more seriously.

Strength is not a problem for me, but there is no way I can do highest output for very long, compare to some of the lighter guys who can do it all day.

The genetics excuse when it comes to being overweight is so overplayed and annoying. Some people have faster metabolisms than others, but anyone can be in shape, if you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. Someone who is Nelson's size and exercises as much as he does could eat a good amount of food and still lose weight, he just doesn't have the self control.

Are you trolling me right now? You can't claim "genetics" as the reason you dont look ripped and then go on to say you aren't even trying to build muscle.

Dude your numbers mean jack when it comes to looking fit. If you're training for performance then good for you, but also realize its the reason you don't look like a body builder. You gotta train like one to look like one. And for a skinny fat dude that requires putting on muscle.

Well thats all I needed to know. Don't try to lecture me on the ideal weight. You and I have different standards completely. You go by the martial artist standards (way too skinny for me). I go by lifting standards. We're not gonna agree on anything.

Why can't I? There's kids as I said that walk around with 6 pacs while drinking beer and eating pizza and never been in a gym in their life. Meanwhile there's people who train all day everyday with perfect diets and never see their abs in their life. How can you say that's not genetics? I'm not saying oh if you're born inferior give up and use that as a scapegoat for not doing anything athletically involved in your life.

I'm not trying to lecture you was just pointing out the differences. In fact you were the one who was judging the other guy on his weight, which by martial arts standard is actually a good fight weight for his height.

Just thought I point that out.
