Fighters at their absolute peak.

True, but ubereem is 100% his peak, just like bald villain Jones is peak Jones when he was pulsing hard enough to trip seismographs while bullying DC.

Rory is the one of the ones I'm most surprised never touched gold. Kid looked like he had everything and would keep getting better, then didn't. Was it the Robbie fight that just took everything out of him?
lmaaaooo poor DC lol lol maybe he felt that pulse when he was kneeing him lol "pulse knee attack!!!" haha

but that ubereem was a legit monster too. i mean it sounded ridiculous when he was saying he wasn't roiding even before he popped lol

Shogun with healthy knees ftw! Been saying this shit for like 15+ years lol

I think with Hendricks it was the IV rehydration thing
The Shogun who won the 05 Grand Prix was fighting on pure talent and aggression, fighters like Couture and Ortiz would have fared well, especially Couture.

The best Mauricio Rua has ever looked were during the Machida bouts, a lot of people will disagree, be it their nostalgia or the inability to cope with his loss to Forrest, but that Rua id take against any 205lb fighter of his generation, he was just entering his prime and putting everything together until countless injuries occurred.

Just horse meat!

Speaking of ubereem and meat, Retireem is back to eating meat so he doesn't look all weird anymore, thankfully.

The IV rehydration thing was being exploited by putting in PED's into the IV all the time.
Really? First time I've ever heard of that. I know IVs were banned because they mask PEDs by dilluting the concentration of the PEDs in your body, but I've never heard of PEDs in the IV itself.

I misspoke. You're correct that it's more about masking prior PED's in the system.

I know WMMA doesn't get much love on these boards but peak Amanda Nunes from 2016 to 2021 was pretty fun. Single handedly kept the higher weight classes alive once Rousey packed it up. It just sucked that she was horrible at marketing herself. She's one of the only few fighters where I actually believed it was a fluke when Pena beat her and it showed in their second fight.

oh yeah I think that's the best Shogun we saw against Machida, but i think you are the first in this thread at least who agrees with that.

that was one of the greatest performance ever.

It's hard to say though. I know he lost to Sonnen, but 05' Shogun was also different. I doubt he would've lost to Couture or Ortiz.

I despise guys like this who roids and put a serious brain damage on others who is trying to make a living.

I mean audacity on this guy acting like he was clean too, you know?

I don't know man, he never popped. not to mention he missed weight three times after even at mw. i tend to believe the guy

pena is much lesser fighter than nunes, but i don't think it was a fluke and i don't even like pena.

nunes made the same mistake cyborg made against her. underestimate her opponent, went for the finish, and paid the price.

she is wmma goat tho for sure.

Yea guy like him, Jones, etc are all just slime balls. At least a guy like Barnett just straight up admitted he used them to get an advantage.

The only rider whose excuse i ever believed was Tim Sylvia, who said he wanted to get in shape so people would stop making fun of him. Guy was mercilessly bullied at his gym, too, even while being a champ which is crazy.

Hard disagree. The earlier Shogun of his youth beat the who's who of the LHW division when it was full of beasts. It was actually the deepest and hardest weight division at that time in the world.

He beat TKO-ed a young in prime Rampage, a prime Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, TKO-ed Alistiar Overeem and KO-ed Ricardo Arona. 4 beasts in a row.

we need goober taylor back lol Sherdog just bans everybody it's pretty fucked up too

yeah it's just fucking gross, i mean there's another human being's health at stake, this shit ain't cycling, you know?

I always feel bad for Tim. And I think Tim before popping was a monster too. He was big and ripped. He's really underated because nobody likes him.

But I really don't think he gets the respect and love he deserves.

it was impressive, but I think Shogun added this super clinical, technical aspect to his game that night. I personally think it was his greatest masterpiece.
