Fighters at their absolute peak.

he beat every fighter he ever faced and left still holding the belt, that's 6-0 in the finals for me. and 'two division' would be brady winning with two different teams, jordan did it with one team. GSP actually did do it in two divisions.

anyway the idea was how he looked, a man among boys. jordan in his prime looked like a video game and GSP had the same thing with how explosive and dynamic he was.
no way no how. I followed it for almost of his entire ufc career and watched all his fights previously. He's not even close to Jordan.

also he beat Bisping. there's difference between beating Hughes and beating Bisping lol.

GSP is an absolute S tier GOAT dont get me wrong, one of the best legacies in the sport. but....

I certainly think a man should not have to go to a decision against different boys after having 25 minutes to kill them

dude went to decision 7 times in a row with the last one being a split and unanimously viewed as one of the worst decisions in the history of the sport.

I dont follow basketball but I'd be very very surprised if Jordan ever had 7 nba finals in a row were he barely won by a few points...
Jordan's greatness in MMA would only be compared to if Conor beat Khabib for the belt, beat Aldo, then also have few defenses in each.

I don't mind decisions, but the magnitude of greatness isn't even close imo.

yeah i know, it was kinda a tale of two careers, pre and post winning the belt. i was talking more about his earlier fights, when he still had something to prove. and not to beat a dead horse with the jordan comparison, but he did jack with the wizards at the end. they're both still pretty much the gold standards.
gsp isn't the same standard that Jordan is for basketball.

I mean to mention beating Bisping as if it's some argument to get compared to Jordan is pretty crazy too. I mean, it's Bisping.

GSP might be the MMA Goat though. Since he was clean and Jones wasn't.

But he's no MJ.

Probably been mentioned on here but

2014-15 Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald.

Knocked the prime out of each other.

Rory thought I think Robbie wasn't natural or at least was kinda implied I think?

But it's more pity for Rory since he was so young....

And makes you wonder too...

Robbie apparently had some abnormal Test level ratios, but I think it was similar to Cormier who post weight cut had a massive spike up in Testosteorne. Which is a real thing and doesn’t mean PED’s

Yeah super bummed me out what happened to Rory. I honestly believe the Rory from 2014-15 would be champ nowadays.

You think jones is as good today as he ever was ?
some ppl think that.

i do think reyes beat jones in his prime, maybe.

i guess hard to say but he has been declining then took years off then still off prime imo

Shogun Rua when he won the LHW Grand Prix was the most insane fighter ever.

He did get robbed but he was also very obviously juiced to the gills. As soon as USADA came in, he was a shell.

Shogun with healthy knees ftw! Been saying this shit for like 15+ years lol

I think with Hendricks it was the IV rehydration thing

Rory got screwd over. He had potential to be so much more.

I don't know, but Robbie looked like a monster with monster cardio. Who knows but he never pissed hot i think so gotta give him the benefit of doubt.

Robbie is my favourite fighter of all time, but he has also trained at ATT and Kill Cliff fc which are known PED gyms. So who knows.

yeah we'd never know...

he had a similar resurgence like TRTor, but TRTor had history...

he doesn't have anything testing positive in the past so..

but when you have a guy who was in there twice, and rory isn't a shit talker, it does make you wonder and no one really mentions lawler when it comes to best cardio, but he really had a good one and power as well...

But I do gotta say he had a good run and he never popped so,

I never been a fan and probably my fav Lawler fight

lmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaao

whatever he's on, boy we need Ubereem vs Uber-Rothewell.

Actually Ubereem def deserves a mention in this thread come to think of it, but I hate cheaters
True, but ubereem is 100% his peak, just like bald villain Jones is peak Jones when he was pulsing hard enough to trip seismographs while bullying DC.

Rory is the one of the ones I'm most surprised never touched gold. Kid looked like he had everything and would keep getting better, then didn't. Was it the Robbie fight that just took everything out of him?
