I guess Hollywood just wants to shove more bs in our faces over learning their lessons on all the previous L's they have taken. Movies like Bridesmaids and Bad Moms worked because they did it right. Rebooting male led franchises into girl power movies has worked...exactly zero times. The Oceans 8 and Ghostbusters being prime recent examples. Hell, even a prior female led franchise is not even appealing these days, Charlies Angels?

Somehow I knew it was going to be a gender swap remake just from the title. Seems like one of the worst films you could apply that concept to since the first film and the book seem really rooted in masculinity.
