These movies are all obsolete. This is like spending 15 years designing a microchip.
Society moves faster than movie-making. If you want to hit trends on the money, you'd have to make movies in 1 month or less.

Did you even read the article? It is not a remake. It is an action comedy. Based on the description the only thing it has in common with Fight Club is that there's an underground fighting ring. There are many movies with this idea already.
