I doubt these numbers, seeing as Mike recently said 'this fight is not going to change my life financnially'... well it would if it was 20 mil. That's what he was getting paid at the height of his career. So I'm betting it's a lot less, probably a few mil.

His wife has helped him/them get back on track financially... pay off debts, he has a nice house; his wife earns, he earns - from his podcast, sponsorships, his weed biz... I think he's probably either in the green (lol, pardon), or at least managing it very well, he seems to be in a good place...

Well, it's not uncommon for old fighters to be so in debt they never get out. The IRS is brutal to boxers and all these padded purses we hear about, if they are real in any sort of way, IRS takes half. If those don't get paid or even if there's some sort of fuckup, bad news. Joe Louis and Ray Robinson fought long after they should have because of the tax man. Duran had entire purses just taken after some fights. From what I recall, Tyson's tax debts were so huge it was said they'd never be paid back but as we know, he looks like he's doing ok.

Yeah it coulda been either of theirs or sanctioning body's idea due to Mike's age or the experience levels tbh...

It coulda been Mike's, to give Jake more of a chance, or Jake's to give himself more of a chance, or even Mike some leeway given his age/potential resistence decline...
