Long story short I think I may end up with a litter of kittens in the cat houses I've put outside being I saw what I thought was a girl cat having sex with a girl cat.

What to do? Get them and take them to be vaccinated and spayed to curb the gigantic feral situation we have here and let them go or have them? I think my two cats if they're kittens would be okay but the family of cats outside who I feed...taking them away from the mother?

No way I'd adopt the parents, the mother is nice but the dad really upsets one of my cats just through the window.

Take them to a vet you trust and spay and neuter them. It's going to cost money, but vets are usually cool with sharing cost.
This. Also, there are local organizations everywhere who are willing to help with that. They’ll even trap cats for you so they can be spayed and neutered.

My wife and I used to take care of a feral cat colony.

There is a retired vet and his wife that does great outreach in my area. They came to my house and helped me say goodbye to my sweet Chloe. Gave her a shot of ketamine, then the big one. One of the hardest things that I have ever done is holding her as she died. I wrapped her up in a nice blanket, proper, and buried her next to a weeping willow I planted years before. I named her after a song.

The shelter I got my two from do specials for $20 every now and again so cost isn't a problem.

I'm in a quandary about my two house cats being accepting of new kittens though. I mean if I bring them in 1) mummy feral cat is going to be thinking I kidnapped them and 2) how can I guarantee that that they don't end up horrors and make my two beauties feel uncomfortable? My two are the prime concern.

Fuck, that's a hard one. Keep them separate. Inside cats are inside cats, out cats are out cats. I have an out cat that adopted me. His name is "Ashe". I named him that because I had just watched "Aliens". I now call him "Smash". He is an out boy, and he likes it that way.

We have a coyote issue here so I will never let my cats out unless they're on a lead.

Cross that bridge, I guess. But if I end up with a litter of kittens I will have a hard time not bringing them in as our cats.

I saw a beautiful coyote a month ago nosing around. Smash is strong enough to thwart an attack, but smaller prey would be done.

Didnt get to fully read till now. If you can get the ferals used to people and handling the earlier the better.

We have 4 cats all from feral litters till we managed to capture and get the mother cat fixed. Shes been missing the past week which is weird as she was always here for breakfast. Ours are friendly and good with us but terrified of anyone else. 50/50 house/outdoors cats. Had to get the girls fixed quick when they started acting like whores.

Nueter them but provide some small enclosure they can hide in. Cats that live outside have a short life. You don't want to stumble on to random deaths.

If you do neuter and trap and release, if possible release them somewhere away from highly populated areas. My local veterinarian board keeps releasing them outside of their office which is super busy. Tons of dead cats being hit by cars and climbing up engine bays

If you keep giving them nice little houses and not neuter the litter, that empty pool of yours will be filled with cat piss in no time, believe you me. Parents need to be neutered asap as well.
