Feral cats

I live in a town of 30,000 people with literally desert for an hour's drive to anywhere each side. I'm pretty limited on the release thing and we're expecting 120f heat this summer. The shelter is closed today but I'll call tomorrow to find out their neuter days, I know momma cat is likely knocked up again but I'll try and get them all there to be fixed.

Good on you for looking after the kitties
 
If ever there was an argument for reincarnation to make be believe which I never have, it's this. Every cat I had growing up we rescued, were born in our yard or were stray. My mum adored cats and while she didn't like them knew sunflowers are my favourite flowers. The seed must have been carried into my garden from a neighbour and decided to grow right next to the feral cat houses I put out for shelter with food and water.

I've had a hard 4 years. Lost 3 cats. My baby boy, Farley, I limped him to the finish. My other sweet girl was Chloe. The only one that sat on my lap as she passed. Her and Farley are my heart. It's all I can do to comfort animals. I miss my Farley. He was the best cat. First night he crawled up on my bed and snuggled in the crook of my arm. I miss him so much.

I'm so sorry, that's horrible. I can say probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen was Gunner and Rocket running up and down the full length of the house for a good half an hour when we got them home and then watching TV which they'd likely never seen before being they were in a tiny box in the shelter before. When it was bedtime they both sat on my chest watching Suits till they fell asleep and I woke up at 6ish with Rocket chewing my finger.

Useless I know but remember you gave them love and a good home. I wish I could bring the ferals in especially seeing Momma has just had the most beautiful Torties but my two would hate it. Bought some kitten food for them at least and they seem quite happy kitties.
 
Spay & Neuters all around. They will keep having babies.
