Female dating strategy (Reddit)

It's equal parts hilarious and sad that a forum with a format that god awful is actually driving real forums into extinction. It doesn't bode well for the Dog given the average age around here is like 50-something. Mad loves for all of you codgers, daddies and dinosaurs.
Reddit is a haven of homosexual activity.

I think that's a double standard by society in general, not necessarily Reddit.

A guy who cheats is a sex-crazed asshole who doesn't love his wife.

A woman who cheats is a victim of an unaffectionate male who had not choice but to seek intimacy outside of the marriage.
Alot of the relationship advice sub-reddits seem to harbor this mindset, and the mods go ham on those who say otherwise. If it was more balanced I would say its okay, but Reddit has a bit of a bias.

I saw one last year where it started out as an innocent question, but the TS got exposed as a manipulative chick. She said something about how she doesn't want kids at all while being engaged to her current fiance (nothing wrong with that, but it opens up more); it eventually delves into that she really doesn't want his genes to spread and justifies it by claiming low-key that he isn't good looking and worried the future kids won't be either "He's not the best looking guy in the world, but I love him". As the thread grows, she says she wants to adopt, then eventually says wants to be a surrogate. She lashes out at other redditors who say to break it off and let the man go; But she didn't want to, because he was an Engineer with good income who was funding her bum lifestyle.

It was alot of mental gymnastics for something that was pretty primal.

Reddit has the absolute worst format for having actual discussion and it is over modded to the point of absurdity.

Agreed, plus every sub is an echo chamber of its own, which can become problematic.
Though I can see a bit of the same going on on Sherdog as well, but at least on a classic forum you can have overt one on one discussion without posts getting buried.

I'd love to know where this narrative originated. Where I come from, a woman who cheats is called a whore or a slut and no one except her closest girlfriends has any sympathy.

The men's rights crowd makes a handful of legitimate complaints, but an imaginary double standard about cheating isn't one of them.

Just no man, this isn't even remotely true.

From my personal experience, it does seem to be unfortunately true. Whenever the topic of cheating comes up with women, most of them will be quick to jump to the excuse that the cheating female was only doing it because of a bad relationship. Implying that it was the guy's fault.

It's the same with alcohol. If a girl was drunk and cheats, it was the alcohol's fault, not the girl's. But if a guy cheats while drunk, it's the guy's fault (Which I actually 100% agree with. Alcohol is never an excuse).

For what it's worth, I find this utterly genius. A brilliant way to have one's cake and eat it too in a relationship.

Curious, do you live in the US or elsewhere? What Alphaboy is talking about is definitely a Western thing. In India, for example, and much of the nonwestern world, it's more like how you are describing it. A woman who cheats in India is dead to society (especially in rural areas), while a guy only gets a slap on the wrist. In certain parts of India, a husband will routinely cheat and it's just considered normal.

India is a shithole.

You forgot the boomers. They are not ok with it.

Yeah, the art of semi-intelligent forum convo is dying. Sadly.

Good Luck Congrats, Bro! :)

(does she know you're bisexual?)
"Ass-deep" login rather strongly implies "full-on-homo" than "bisexual". His fiancee simply may have been an accidental "e-typo"...

I'd like to direct your attention to @A.S. Deep's like on the below clickable post.

I feel kinda bad asking that now, but it's not like I was outing him (big no-no, except for treacherous Tidwell but like, please). A.S. has openly stated it several times himself. A lot of chicks will get legit weird with the knowledge that their man has an attraction to other men.

Some just don't like it because they don't like it. For others it's extremely threatening and not something they feel they can compete with (they're right in my case) even if we aren't actually any more Iiable to cheat on them.
Relax, dude.
This the Berry, we're just fondling each other's crotches in here, "busting balls" so to say.

Guess what? We all like having our crotches fondled, ghey/strait/yellow/purple/ or eleven.

@A.S. Deep, I hope it wasn't too deep, bro!
'Pologize.

What the fuck is going on in this thred ? Holy Homo Erectus batman.

It's found within the support structure.

A person goes to a place to vent, where everyone who is already there came for the same exact reason -- they're going to commiserate through agreement. Everyone who cheats is considered disloyal, but in a place designed to support people will sing a different tune.

I would agree that MALES ARE PERPETRATORS/WOMEN ARE VICTIMS is not the double standard it seems to be, but I am not sure Alphaboy was calling it a double standard either. I think we've all seen enough examples of women ruthlessly turning on one another, even while supposedly supporting each other.

These groups can be nasty vicious, but of course they would be. Consider their mood, and then consider how long it goes. A break-up is a temporary thing, the feeling should work itself out. Meanwhile, a support group online is a permanent fixture to a temporary problem, and "OG" members will never heal because they constantly reinforce the above narrative, even though they know and we know it ain't true.

It should not be very confusing that emotional wrecks are not the standard example for any gender.

They give love a bad name!

Yeah, it's not like I've never seen the scenario they are describing. Women definitely get to be the victim sometimes when they shouldn't. It just doesn't seem to me to be the default for cheating like some people make it out to be. I've definitely seen more women criticized than treated like victims for cheating.
