Female Action Movies?

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

I guess Fury Road (sorry Tom)

Wow, this thread is kind of disappointing. Not that many really good female led action movies.

I don't remember the details but it was discussed a bit in a podcast I listened to a while back and I remember thinking, "No wonder his script was rejected."
I need to look that shit up...they rejected Romero's retarded script for another retarded script...makes sense

This more Sci-fi/Action, but I really liked Lucy.

Yeah I think that seemed to pass a lot of people by(although it made big money in Europe) due toe "only use 10% of brain" concept being such a well known myth and the trailers looking more like a standard Matrix copycat. The first hour or so though was I felt actually really well done playing the kidnapping straight and then actually looking at the negative aspect of the typical superhero power fantasy, became a bit more standard after that but had a nice sub 2001ish ending.

The same with Ghost in the Shell for me, granted I don't think it was as smart as the Oshii films but still it was smarter than most action blockbusters and really was very nice to look at beyond Johansson herself. I think too many reviewers latched onto the whitewashing fuss which for me was always nonsense given that the character in the films has a deliberate western mannequin look plus of course the films twist actually addresses the issue.

Not perhaps nominally the lead but arguably the bigger role is the most praised action film of recent years...

I can actually only tolerate the first film...

The second is batshit insane, but in a fun way I think. The third sucks and is boring. The fourth is kind of up and down. I don't love the prison element, but it does have a strong beginning and ending. The fifth kind of sucks, but it does have a cool first 20 minutes or so. The sixth is not very good overall, but it has some cool visual elements and some good individual scenes.

My favorite is probably the second.

I actually love a lot of cheesy horror movies too (Full Moon has produced some of my favorites) but something about the Resident Evil movies are off putting to me...

I think it's because I'm a huge fan of the games, that I was disappointed that they really do not mirror the games

Some of my persona favorites that are lesser-known.

Well, like I said saying earlier, my initial reaction was the same, upon watching the first movie. But then when I revisited them I just decided to get over that and accept them for what they were.

Are we just going to ignore this OG classic?
