Feeling lonely at Christmas...

I got used to mine. I use audio books to help me get to sleep, but I don't really need them any more. That noise is just the world I live in now.

Most of my family is dead and Christmas is very small now..
My mother was going to host this year but earlier in the week she slipped on the ice and broke her wrist. I told her that I would come over early Saturday morning and take care of everything, because as little as Christmas Eve means, it still means something.
So I went over, cleaned the house, went shopping to get food, cooked the meal (we always have turkey).
My father's Italian, so I prepared melon with prosciutto.
This may be a dumb picture, but I was peeling potatoes into my grandmother's fifty year old kitchen basin. She passed a few years ago, she was the matriarch of the family and the core of all holiday gatherings. This basin was a part of preparing thousands of meals over half a century.
My aunt, who is seventy-five, was too ill to come, so I prepared food for my father to bring to her and my cousin. Not leftover scraps, full helpings as if they'd come including one of the drumsticks.
The holidays used to mean everything to my family. Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas were all celebrated with my grandmother. Over forty-five years I missed three of those, all because I was out of town for work, that's how seriously I took them. Now, most of my family is dead or moved away and we're just barely clinging to them. I couldn't let this one fail.

See a specialist right away.
There is almost certainly no chance he can do anything, but if he can, it's probably only at the very beginning, or so I've heard. A regular doctor will probably just brush you off, so make sure you see a specialist.
And that's exactly what I have, and have had for five years, that high pitched sound somewhere in your head. It's your ears.
This helps some people.

They build it I'm more like the drunken foreman who oversees everything. They did ask for some fairly complicated sets this year so I did have to get hands on once or twice.

Tinder/Bumble it up bro, had a date last night with a cool chick. Parents are staying over too so I'm only working a half day. Going to crack a bottle of vino when I'm off and maybe hit up a work colleagues Xmas party, dunno yet though.

To the lonely people out there my suggestion is to keep your ego in check, f**k this person or that person over minor things is not the way to live. This is coming from a person who has a ego and my makeup is to end relationships quickly. However, I realize that this is not a good thing so i am working on it. When people say that you mostly create your own reality it is true, nobody is perfect so we will forever make mistakes but when things dont go your way look for at least something positive no matter how minor it is.

Similar situation here. I only speak to one family member, I've a couple great friends I rarely see, and several acquaintances. Bit of a hermit. I had a great smoothie for breakfast and enjoyed some dynamite coffee, good food and a beer. Just relaxed. I make due and appreciate the little things.
