With my stupid gym closing for Easter Sunday I have to adjust my 5x5 a little. Can I get a little feedback on the following change that's in my log? Here's the link to the entry:

I'm posting this here because I didn't get much feedback on it in my log. You can post the feedback in my log if you want.

The world will not end if you miss a training session. If you do it on Monday instead of Sunday, you will not die or become "overtrained." You are obsessing over a minor issue. Those spreadsheets were not made by God himself and handed down to the people as the ONE AND ONLY way to train. They were not even written by Bill Starr. They were written by some dude who calls himself EliteMadCow on the internet.

First of all, why so hostile? Second of all, I'm not doing the Madcow variation of the 5x5. Lastly, I'm a total noob when it comes to strength training and the lack of detailed responses to my question has shown me that I don't need to be as obsessive about my training schedule as I thought I needed to be. The reason I'm little obsessive is because the Bill Starr 5x5 link in the FAQ is rather adamant when it comes to what you should and should NOT do and I was little worried about changing the program.

Do you always talk to noobs that way, or do you just yell at the OCD ones?

I hate the comment "just lift dude," so many people use that to try and sound hard... even if someone IS obsessing or in the wrong or w/e, that crap is freaking annoying...

    What the hell, man!

You should just "shut up and lift" and quit typing this kind of nonsense. :icon_chee

Sry, Nuge, I'm not too familiar with the 5x5 so my advice would be rather worthless...

Here's where I think you're wrong. I think it's great to look at people who attempt to intellectualize something as if they're just being weird. I mean with that kind of high school/frat boy kind of thinking how can we not motivate each other?

    *takes off the sarcasm cap*

as you mentioned, you are a beginner. and as a beginner, you shouldn't be worried about spreadsheets, planning monthly training cycles, what program you are using next etc. your main concern should be linear progression every workout and your own form, not watching other people lift when you go to the gym so you can go home and post shit in the "favorite idiots moment's thread"
