What causes the confusion is that with a corkscrew hook, one turns over the wrist as the hook is thrown, so the arm can sometimes be almost straight when it lands—but it’s not thrown straight out from the chest like a jab. Because it’s not a jab. It’s a sort of whipping hook actually, called a corkscrew hook.

I’m well aware that you just hang out and troll and don’t really want the answers to your question.

Bader’s punch was not thrown with a straight trajectory. It arcs, because it’s a hook. As mentioned, the arm throwing it can end up almost straight because the wrist turns over. You’re taking a still frame of that moment and pretending that was the trajectory of the strike, when it was not.

Fedor was in his prime during the 3 fight losing streak. There was no major injuries or career ending stuff or life threatening stuff. Nog was also in his prime when he lost to Mir the first time. Nog was also always a terrible striker and poor wrestler.

Also Fedor fans back then if you search on here never said he sucked or was out of prime when he was set to face Werdum. The worst critiques you saw was that Fedors striking regressed since Rodgers busted up his nose but the masses explained it by saying that it was a fluke shot. In fact people were saying Werdum was out of prime due to the JDS loss and Arlovski decision loss and that Big Foot would gas and cang support 290lbs if weight. That Hendo is out of prime and too old and would get KOd. Also Hendo and Werdum had major injuries in their career by this point and Hendo ceased wrestling.

Albeit a very sloppy one with bizarre footwork

He slept him with a jab thus finishing the fight within seconds.

Fedor became world champion in 2003 and lost in Strikeforce in 2011 when he was 33-34

Gustaffson is 0-4 since turning 32 and retired.

Cain is 1-3 since turning 33 and retired.

JDS is 3-5 with all losses by KO since turning 33.

Rashad Evans is 1-6 since turning 32 and retired.

GSP retired at 32.

Conor was washed up by 33.

Sugar Ray Leonard never won another fight after turning 33

We're all these guys in their prime at 33? Or just Fedor? Or are you a clown?

Most posters on Sherdog have never trained, have never sparred and have never fought. This is why most of them don't even understand the mechanics of punching and grappling and thus they will refer to a lead hook or a check hook as a jab because they're so busy trying to discredit Fedor that they don't even realize they're exposing themselves as a noob.

If you knew what a jab was you would understand that a fighter doesn't bend his elbow when throwing a jab. Also when a figntet throws a jab he doesn't follow through with his elbow bent, instead the fighter brings the jab back to his guard position in a straight line.

Bader hit King Mo and Fedor with the same exact punch. Elbow bent in both sequences before throwing and elbow bent after throwing. This is why Fedors chin turned to the left after getting hit- following the trajectory of Baders follow through, if it was a jab Fedors head would have popped straight back instead of turning with the direction of Baders punch. It's amazing that this even has to be explained.

the better question is how in the hell you can still not know that fedors trainer said fedor had lost a step BEFORE the arlovsky fight and was winning based on experience at this point only.......

i cant understand not including all the data in a discussion.... fedors trainer said that specifically in the context of a question about fedor remaining undefeated. its pretty relevant to these discussions.

Bader has never ko'd a HW not named Fedor

Fedor is without a doubt the Pride goat and the Pride heavyweight goat, but Stipe is the UFC heavyweight goat. I believe that's how those kinds of things should be sorted out versus arguing who was better when we really have no idea because the rules were so much different.
