Media Fedor Emelianenko Resumé Review

Winning by injury against a top guy in the division below didn't make him a ranked HW. A win over Frye 3-4 prior was his last relevant win before the Fedro rematch. What facts am I avoiding? That's some serious projections there, sweetheart. Coleman wasn't ranked in the second fight. That's a fact.

Coleman caused the injury and it was still a win over the top 5 P4P fighter in the world. Barnett was offered to fight Fedor that night but he ducked and Coleman was coming off a big win and stepped up son.

10 on the mental gymnastics needed to elevate Randleman.

He had dropped 2 of 3 prior and like 4 straight after...one fluke over the grossly overrated CroCop...then lost to crocop by fucking standing guillotine lol

Hes a career .500 fighter
Lewis is #7 in UFC after losing 3 out of 4, if he loses to Spivak, he would still probably be in Top 10 after 3 straight loses. Daukas is #11 after 3 defeats in the row.
JDS was in Top 10 vs Gagne, after 3 KO loses in the row.

Randleman was UFC HW champion, few years removed but that achievement was still very well remembered at those times, and have beaten Cro Cop which climbed him back. In 2005 he had straph infection which he barely survived, and his effective career was finished after that, so he naturally unable to string more wins after that.

Randleman was able on the given night to be better than Cro Cop, Pedro Rizzio, and Bas Rutten, and they were the apsolute peak of MMA of those times. Also it was a mirracle that his suplex did not cost Fedor to lose a fight.

Randleman win is of equal worth like win over any former champion in future times who is past prime, but still solidly hangs in Top 10. And all modern UFC champions are built by such wins.

He wasn't ranked. Doesn't matter how much you love Fedro.

Correct—I scored it a draw.

What I was taking issue with that Luke Thomas said, is how it definitely should’ve been stopped, Fedor lost, and the fight only was allowed to go on because of “corruption.”
I get that there are refs who might’ve stopped it, but it’s debatable whether it needed to be stopped. And I don’t know that it’s proof of corruption. We could have the same view of Kongo-Barry, Lesnar-Carwin, Magny-Lombard a whole bunch of times, and various other fights. And while I scored rd 1 a 10-8, there’s plenty of examples of fights where judges didn’t award 10-8s. Big John McCarthy actually uses Lombard vs Magny as an example of a 10-7 round—and yet all judges only scored 10-9s. It happens, is all I’m saying.

If it didn't get stopped and the guy made it trough then it's legit not a stoppage.

Yeah exactly! It’s interesting that in the Kongo-Barry situation, people said “Obviously the ref made the right choice—Kongo wasn’t done”
Shouldn’t people say the same for Fedor-Maldonado? Fedor didn’t just wing one haymaker like Kongo did, Fedor fought 2 more full rounds and won them both.
But like you said, score should’ve been 28-28.

Yes thank you, I’ve seen that fight before. I was there, in fact.

That is not a jab.
What manner of punch was that that rendered him unconscious?
If it was not a jab (Bader is right handed) what was it?

I’m aware of the betting odds.

Regarding TRT, I’m not accusing Hendo or Bigfoot of cheating per se, since it was allowed. I am saying it is a PED, it enhances performance. Fedor has never been on TRT, nor failed a PED test. Every major accomplishment Hendo ever had was done on TRT, and without it he went like 2-7 or something (I’m going by memory). It was pretty obviously impactful. There’s no hoop jumping going on at all. My statement that in Fedor’s initial run, he never lost to anyone who didn’t either fail for PEDs at some point or was on TRT, is factually true.
Hendo went 3-4, following the ban of TRT. Nice exaggeration there with the "2-7."

It's called a check hook. If you had ever trained you would know clown.

A check hook involves a "step off" to the side against an advancing opponent. (OSP-Shogun)

Where do you see that in Bader-Fedor?

It was a jab that he very, VERY slightly turned over into a hook.

Where you train bro??? lol

I am no expert but how is that a hook? Bader is right hand dominated and that has no hooking motion to it and is with his left hand

It did look like it had a very slight hook to it. Similar to Diaz ko lawler...but even closer to a jab...much closer actually

I don’t know if you saw (or even cared lol) about the Fedor-Bader breakdown thread I did, but I addressed it there. The GIF I used comes from this video, from multiple time kickboxing champ Gabriel Varga.

The strike is called a corkscrew hook.

What causes the confusion is that with a corkscrew hook, one turns over the wrist as the hook is thrown, so the arm can sometimes be almost straight when it lands—but it’s not thrown straight out from the chest like a jab. Because it’s not a jab. It’s a sort of whipping hook actually, called a corkscrew hook.

Agreed

I am a fan that is neutral. I literally say what most Fedor fans hate to hear/read

Was Fedor out of his prime when he dropped 3 straight in Strike force ? Why did fans say he was out of his prime after he lost not before, before they said he is the goat and nobody will beat him, he will destroy Werdum. Is a fighter out of their prime at age 33/34.
