I about pissed myself laughing at the possibility of Frank and DC being top 5 HWs all time. <Lmaoo><45>Doesn't have a top 5 HW GOAT win.
Stipe has 4 (Frank, DC, JDS, Werdun)

I personally feel like Pride and UFC goats should be separated, primarily for the difference in the rules and setting. I think people don't realize how much a ring versus a cage makes a difference, plus the 10 minute first round.
IF your ability at distributing an ass kicking is of a goat status, it will make no difference if it's a cage or ring.
I am getting to that ageGet some Depends amigo...sounds serious.
Chuck said the same...but the experts on Sherdog act like its a completely different sport.
That’s just not true. Cro Cop is probably the best example of someone whose style just didn’t translate well to a cage. He—like Fedor—is a smaller HW that likes to come forward, cut angles, back guys into corners, do shit when he’s backed into a corner like reverse the opponent into the corner and strike with a headkick…IF your ability at distributing an ass kicking is of a goat status, it will make no difference if it's a cage or ring.

But in all seriousness, Nogueira is a top 5 hw all time. To believe otherwise is incredibly stupid. Stipe lost to JDS when they were both in or near prime, he beat a washed version. Tbh, I think having a top 5 all time win as a GOAT criteria doesn’t make much sense. Fedor has multiple wins over Nog, Stipe has a win over Werdum—and you can give him some sort of partial credit for beating washed JDS if it makes you feel tingly inside.
But Fedor’s resume and accomplishments pwns Stipe’s considerably.
I don’t recall, but I assume Chuck said that before he went over to PRIDE and got his ass handed to him in a ring?

Those corners and angles aren’t there in a cage like they are in a ring. Likewise if one is pushed against the ropes, there’s still room to move and be mobile rather that just get pinned there like one can be in a cage. The two environments are not the same.
Tai and Lewis are not good. They are slow, lumbering dudes that even washed JDS could get wins over. In fact, they’re the last wins JDS has had in his entire career.JDS had just schooled a surging Big Ben and subsequently KO'd Tai and Lewis---he was far from washed. His losses were fucking Cain and Reem at that point.
I’d say top 2. It’s Fedor and GSP at the top, either order is acceptable.

To me they are like Rodgers just better in particular Tai. Lewis is basically a Rodgers with better wrestling.
GOAT is a weird one. I feel he would never beat Werdum, Ngannou and Stipe prime for prime
Resume he is top HW ever you could only argue Stipe is better which I would argue in spite of the Struve loss. He avenged the Dos Santos one and was out of prime by the DC and Ngannou losses you could argue.
Tricky. I cannot ignore level of comp I give credit to Fedor for being a MW frame and fighting at HW while chubby but about like 20 of his opponents total were LHWs or had losing records. That is a fact. I saw someone make a list on here before it is a lot. Knowing that Ngannou, Werdum, Stipe and the new generation of Pavlovich, Gane etc cannot mimic that because they are in the UFC were all the comp is elite and all legit HWs
I’m surprised to hear you say that regarding Werdum. While I’d love to watch 2004 Fedor grapple with Werdum, I think Overeem showed (in their 2nd and 3rd fights) a cleat template to use to beat Werdum: punish Werdum standing, and just never ever follow him to the ground. Werdum in later years improved his striking a lot, but never to a point that I think it was better than Fedor’s.GOAT is a weird one.
