Hey man, is it not you Fedor cultists who proclaim the SF HWs as being better than the UFCs at the time ?
The belt is prestigious for the fact the 'GOAT' and undefeated #1 ranked HW legend of MMA avoided it like the plague. SF was a well respected org and as such having a title there holds for something. It's worth as much as Fedors WAMMA title which he won against Big Timmy in hilarious fashion, defended against Arlovski thanks to a hail mary and again versus Rogers in a well fought match, once more the old overhand helped him clinch it.
The truth of the matter is that Overeem is potentially 2 weeks away from having the most prestigious belt in MMA, the UFC title. Fedor fans can claim Pride this, Pride that but sorry, Fedor will always for many people have a huge tarnish on his legacy, a real question mark over his standings as he never fought in the UFC.
Overeem genuinely has better wins than Fedor, yes he has more losses and more blimps. But he has hit as many if not more highs and when you then factor in accolades/titles he's going to come out on top. And many people will look back on that, the names you beat, the titles you held. You can go 36-4 or whatever, but if a large chunk of those W's were nobodies...no one will care.
Fedor has the Pride HW title and the Pride HW GP. Oh and a WAMMA belt.
Overeem potentially could have the UFC HW title, the SF HW title, the Dream HW title and the K1 WGP title.
Overeem has beat, Junior Dos Santos, Fabricio Werdum, Brock Lesnar, Andrei Arlovski, Igor Vovchanchyn, Vitor Belfort, Frank Mir, Mark Hunt, Roy Nelson, Sergei Kharitonov, Stefan Struve, Brett Rogers, Todd Duffee. And he was beating Cro Cop till the NC call for a low blow. (Not to mention Overeems K1 wins over the likes of Badr Hari, Peter Aerts, Gokhan Saki & Tyrone Spong.)
Fedor has beat, Antonio Nogueira, Cro Cop, Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Mark Hunt, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Ricardo Arona, Heath Herring, Matt Lindland, Semmy Schilt, Brett Rogers and Jeff Monson.
Overeems wins are just as good if not better and if he wins the UFC title you can add Miocic to his wins, and his titles/accolades will eclipse Fedors.
You can look at numbers all you like man, but I'm looking at the names.
