FBI raids office of Michael Cohen, personal attorney to Donald Trump

Grow up.
Are you going to attempt to deny that your government, your leaders and your mass media exert a great deal of influence beyond your borders?
Further, don't you think one would be wise to pay attention to, and exert whatever influence one can manage over, those that have influence over us?

The disparity of influence ( in basically any field or industry you could care to name) between America and any other individual nation has been ridiculous over the last, what, 70-ish years. That's not jealousy talking - that's simply an observation of the obvious.

When America's leaders make decisions, the rest of us will often have to shoulder some of the consequences of those decisions - often in ways that your geographical isolation and wealth mean you never have to deal with to the same extent. On top of that, you're the most well-marketed nation in the world, and your culture is exported across the globe in the form of movies, series and music.
Your leaders and your financial industry send you into a recession, and the cost of living in my country goes up.
Your leaders dick around in the Middle East for 15 years, and refugees flood into Europe - likely permanently altering the course of more than one culture in both regions.
Your cops shoot your black people, and suddenly BLM pops up in all their retarded glory, inspiring copycats and wannabes around the world.
Your military and your intelligence community actively try to "spread democracy" and the rest of us have to deal with upended governments, regional destabilisation and ousted leaders.
We're all familiar with and influenced by the declining arts of America - we know at least a handful of your celebrities, your songs and your cartoon characters.

It's an interconnected world, and everyone would be wise to pay at least a little attention to what everyone else is doing - America just happens to demand more attention because it commands more influence.
Get over it.

I know yours was a throwaway comment, so I hope you don't mind that I put more than a half-second of thought into mine.

I don't really disagree with most of this, but I'll nitpick a little.

I'm usually the guy around here who appreciates slight distinctions, and I hate to mischaracterize others, but the difference between "covering something up" and "trying to keep something from being investigated" is too tiny for me to understand. I am willing to try.

Two is the right number. Papadopolous was not paid by the campaign and didn't have a campaign e-mail address or office. He was a low-level volunteer.

None of the three guilty pleas are a good sign for Mueller. He' s getting people for lying under oath. That makes them useless as witnesses against the higher-ups.

Yeah it is a slight distinction (and I think both are considered obstruction of justice), but I think literally trying to keep things from being investigated by firing the investigators (or in the mob's case buying them off) is different than taking actions to obscure the evidence of crimes that investigators are investigating. My point was really that we honestly don't know if Trump is really covering anything up, or if he is just offended by the investigations and/or concerned about how his campaign being investigated makes his victory appear tainted. Despite my strong suspicions, I am still giving Trump the benefit of the doubt, because the facts are not (at least publicly) there otherwise.

To not count George P as a member of the Trump campaign though is just not accurate. Now I have heard him described as peripheral, but he wasn't "low level" or negligible (certainly not in the intern or coffee boy sense that the Trumpers have tried to paint him). He was involved enough and knew enough to get himself into big trouble, and then he knew enough about other things for Mueller to cut a deal with him.

A former Trump campaign official said Papadopoulos interacted with the campaign "a significant amount" during the 2016 election cycle.
"He was a foreign policy adviser," the official said. But the official described Papadopoulos as an adviser who was in contact with the campaign staff via email and not a familiar face around Trump Tower.

This official said Papadopoulos exchanged emails "constantly" on foreign policy matters with the Trump team during the campaign. Still, this official placed Papadopoulos in the same category as Carter Page who felt more like a "hanger-on" to the campaign staff.

Its amusing watching the anti trumpers bash trump supporters for being unwavering, meanwhile they are just as radical. What a stupid game.

I think you'll find the 'liberal/anti-trump' posters here have praised him for reasonable policies & actions more than his supporters have criticized Trump for doing stuff opposite of his campaign promises.

For example myself:

On denying military aid/funding to Egypt due to human rights abuses:

Hey Trump did something good. Well done. Seriously.

Others on the subject:

Holy shit, I agree with the Trump administration on something!

Good, you shouldn't be paying Islamists, political or otherwise.

On Trump working with Democrats to raise the debt limit:

Well done to Trump for reaching across the aisle. Seriously.

Hopefully more to come in the future.

Others:

Good move Donnie. Partisanship is killing us. We need to work together. Sometimes, compromises (on both sides) need to be made for the greater good.

Yes, he's a hypocrite, and yes, people who were screeching about the debt before he took office were obviously full of shit. BUT his current position is 100% correct.

Yes, thats what happens when he does something liberals agree with. Its called being interested in the policy, and not just be a partisan scumbag.

On Trump working with Democrats to solve the DACA issue:

Well done to Trump again for reaching across the isle.
Hopefully much more to come. Trump seems to follow polls & the polls were with the dems on this.

Others:

This would be nice. There's no reason to kick out hundreds of thousands of people who are making America better. I'll give Trump all due credit for finding a reasonable solution, if he can.

Wow.

This is big.

If what is proposed actually happens, GREAT!
But,
I'll wait and see...

Your comment was just partisan hackish as the point you were trying to make.

I think you'd have a hard time finding examples of Trump ball lickers praising democrats or taking a hard stance on Trump going back on his campaign promises.

Fuck me that was brutal. Massive thumbs up for the effort in collecting his dumb shit and presenting it like this

+1 for Lesnar beat down.

It actually wasn't that hard.
I just searched "country, Bloodworth, War Room threads" and tons of examples came up of him trashing multiple countries, races & religions.

Now that your partisan hackery comment has been exposed.

Please go find me examples of Trump ball lickers praising democrats or taking a hard stance on Trump going back on his campaign promises.

Look at yourself..

I think you've been watching too much MSNBC. There's nothing illegal about filling out a DND; there's nothing illegal about lying to the press about who made it or knows about it.

What ever this is, is something that Mueller ran across by chance.

Kind of like realizing that you can entrap a sitting President into perjuring himself in front of a grand jury by ambushing him with questions about the intern that he was banging when you were originally tasked with investigating some two bit land deal that said President and his wife lost money on.

Actually, no. It's like that at all. All of this stuff is directly tied to the investigation of the campaign, which is what Mueller was tasked with doing in the first place.

Republican posters here are just proving what we all suspected.

No matter what crimes Trump committed they don't care.
He's "innocent" yet can have a laundry list of crimes hidden but still have their 100% support.

They never wanted him investigated because they didn't care if anything concrete was found. Cult followers till the very end.

Should we be surprised? Republicans have shown in the past year to support a :eek::eek::eek: in Roy Moore & criminal in Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

They lost the moral high ground a long time ago.

That's an interesting point. I was wondering why Trump was holding on to Pruitt. Even Fox News couldn't defend his corruption and over spending.

Ohhhh f*ck OFF!!!!

Exposed as a liar and shitposter. Incoming....

You talk shit about a bunch of other countries. You're the biggest U.S. nationalist here. With posts reeking of racism and bigotry.

Also you can't spell. Which makes me think you're either retarded or a teenager. I suspect both.
Damn you bend that bum over like a cheap whore.

Any source for the claim that the Trump campaign/charity reimbursed Cohen?

Trump and Cohen were the one's to open that door. Had they not played this silly game of trying to both enforce and NDA while denying its existence the legality of the payment likely would have never come into question.

But that's not the only payment that's come into question. The other is the $150,000 paid to Trump by a Ukrainian businessman for an appearance while Trump was pushing his candidate. That's likely the payment that involved Mueller's attention, given that one of the already charged parties in the investigation was all dirtied up via his Ukrainian ties.

That this involves the Stormy pay off is a result of Trump involving Cohen in all of his dealings.

But since you want something to substantiate the idea the payment was illegally made, I'd point you to the fact they were able to get a no-warning warrant issued on the subject. Neither the seeking of, nor approval of such a warrant on such a subject would come lightly.

Hopefully Trump's new lawyer is better then his old one because he's managed to fuck up a whole bunch. Though that likely has more to do with Trump.

Holy crap how much time and effort did you put into that. Obsessed much?

I mention other countries but know zero about their political leaders, or care to. Natives should worry about their own land, not others.

Spelling? only you young millennials comment on spelling.
Never in my life have I seen someone shout out someone for a spelling mistake until millenials got on their parents iPads.

I'm on a mma website in the war room, driving a truck and I'm expected to spell check and reference everything.

Says a lot more about you guys. Very tight butt holes..

We are dying of laughter over here.

If the nation were composed of people like you, then you would be correct. But to perhaps 35% of the country, Trump undoubtedly committed heinous crimes. Those people are unable to accurately name the specific crimes that were committed, but they are nevertheless utterly convinced. In the eyes of those people, if Mueller fails to indict Trump or his close associates for those "crimes", then Mueller is a failure. There are also plenty of people in the middle to whom the prospect of millions of taxpayer dollars spent without a major indictment appears unsatisfactory. The Manafort indictment will probably satisfy the latter crowd in this specific case, but in general the problem remains.

This comment is very ironic when one considers that the Starr investigation began with legitimate questions about the Clintons' real estate dealings and slowly and relentlessly spread into completely unrelated matters. Starr felt unsatisfied by his failure to get Clinton on his core issue, so he started barking down other lanes. You're making my point for me.
Why do you insist that everyone in this debate must know what the investigators know or their arguments have no merit?

Not even close really. Who are the really solid right wing posters on this site? Serious question, I want to make sure I'm not missing something. I wish there were some really good right wing posters, because there are plenty of things I'd agree with them on.

By solid, I just mean somebody who is principled, reasonably knowledgeable, grounded in reality, and does not spend a significant portion of their time shit-posting.

Same here; the sane GOP appears to be dead, and now we have Trumpbots for whom anything even slightly left of extreme right is unacceptably librul

Well like I said. I hope enough people wake up before it's too late because the tyranny here is pretty alarming.
No it isn't tyranny you doofus. And you happily joined any witch hunt not targeting your team so stfu with your fake concerns about the country.

Stick to demons and science denial.
