That's not correct at all. There was a time I could own any gun I wanted. Now I can't. How is that "stronger"? And yes, there was an individual right as understood by the people and confirmed by SCOTUS via Miller. If there was no individual right then the argument/ruling in Miller would have had nothing to do with the particular weapon and if it were appropriate for militia activities. The argument wasn't about whether Miller could have guns, it was about which guns he could have. Since Miller's side didn't show up to court the ruling went against him.

And you might be interested in what Scalia wrote in the court opinion: "Miller stands only for the proposition that the Second Amendment right, whatever its nature, extends only to certain types of weapons. It is particularly wrongheaded to read Miller for more than what it said, because the case did not even purport to be a thorough examination of the Second Amendment."

Long story short, the courts only recently made the individual right ruling and then wrapped it up in the 14th.

Does AARP really only lobby on a single issue like the NRA does with Gun Control though? I'd assume they would have to cover everything from Social Security and medicare/health insurance to retirement age and taxes.
Definitely more powerful, but I doubt they're as narrowly focused.

Ummm, Miller doesn't contradict my statement and I'd like for you to please demonstrate that it does.

Scalia is right, Miller addressed what type of weapon could be owned. I said that. I also said that the takeaway is what wasn't argued. It was not argued that Miller did not have a fundamental right to own a weapon.

I don't keep tabs on the NRA's spending really. Maybe they don't involve themselves in the multitude of ways guns enter the discussion. By that I mean everything from Constitutional Law to hunting and game management, crime as it relates to civic policy, international trade, environmental protections, access to public lands, etc.

Pan has seemeed more of a bleeding heart the last couple years, he use to (or at least maybe I only say his economic replies) reply more to economic threads. Now anytime there is a thread he is quick to bring up history, etc and talk very little about culture. Now maybe a lot of WR posters need to be informed about the history part.

Pan actually helped change my opinion on AA (i don't even know if he is supportive of AA), I use to be against it but now dont have an issue with it.

Blacks do not do enough in the community, as far as big social movement talking about b on b crime. Remember this was before BLM movement. So not only did I say they always make a big issue when a cop shoots someone and not do any rallies for b on b crime, THEY (SOME) went full retard and made a national movement for the cop shootings. PROVING MY FUCKING POINT.

Whites tend to think that blacks blow the cop shootings out of proportion while largely ignoring the b on b crime issue. Now a national movement got started on false pretenses (hands up dont shoot).

Its like they couldnt have done anything worse to help prove my point. They started a false movement about a overblown subject.

I'm still waiting more the national movement to deal with b on b crime. When are they going to go and protest at gov offices. Go ahead, Ill wait.

Its ok, I didnt know he was black. I said I listened and took the word of other blacks. When he told me he was black, ok cool, I lsiten to his words and I listened to other black peoples words. I think they were right and he was wrong.

The entire basis was I thought I was talking with a latino guy. He told me he was black and was telling me info just like the other black people telling me info. I choose what info I want to believe.

I was going to bring up the Real black issue (or at least what american blacks think real black is versus immigrant black) but I knew I wouldn't win that. That would just make me look like a racist.
