Ugh. Planning to get one if I move down the farm. Letting them loose might be a problem.

If you have the time to train them properly I'm sure it would go better. They are bred as hunting dogs, so someone has managed to control them. Just not me. Oh, also, they are always hungry and will try to eat anything.

I need a non-aggro active dog with short hair. I might look into dutch shepherds.

Imo, a well trained German Shepard is the best dog in the world.
Highly intelligent. Out of the "guard" dog breeds, they are the smartest. Very loyal. Energetic and athletic dogs. Good with families and kids. Alert.

Overall, it is the dog you want with you wherever you go.

Also, it was Hitlers dog of choice....
