"When Khabib learned that Rafael dos Anjos was injured, he asked the manager to call the UFC with an offer to fight McGregor," said Abdulmanap. "The only issue was the weight. Time to reduce weight to lightweight class was not possible but McGregor always said that fight with anyone. He said he wants to fight Robbie Lawler. If the weight is not a problem for him, Khabib agreed.

"UFC started talking about Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, but not about Khabib. Their answer was that they could not give him a fight in the welterweight division. But we already know what happened next: they gave him the fight with Nate Diaz in the welterweight division. Why did they choose Nate and not Khabib?!"

Probably cus the UFC knew that Khabib is a nightmare matchup for Conor. I think Nate is an easier fight for Conor than Aldo or Mendes. Nate is hittable as fuck and just plays right into Conor's counter punching game.
 
Wonderboy, Khabib and Edgar are the three fighters i see them keeping Conor away from at all costs

The UFC is keeping him away from Khabib because they don't want to promote a fight that won't happen.

Khabib is actually a big ass dude he probably weights around 185 when he's not fighting. A 170 pound not so drained khabib would definitely be more powerful and harder to deal with. At this point Diaz is the easiest fight for Mcgregor at this weight no threat of strong wrestling ,relatively slow and a flat one dimensional style that's easy to predict.

Everyone knows the UFC is banking on Conor not Diaz they could care less if Diaz loses
 
Conor did say he likes easy fights explains the pass on Khabib.

How can you be a fan of a guy that can't even make it into the cage?
He's the most overhyped fighter in the ufc right now. He's proven nothing and gets talked about like he's the next Fedor.
 
Let's not talk about what the "UFC doesn't want to happen", let's talk about what they do.. Diaz vs McGregor sells more fights.....unfortunately for Khabib, a fight with him and Mcgregor doesn't do well among the casual fans

I'm not a fan of Khabib's. I think he's annoying.
