Social Fat shaming. 489 pound woman is suing Lyft after one of their drivers refused to let her ride in his vehicle because of his concerns about her fitting

Short people can't ride certain rides at amusement parks. So what's the difference here? Why is being fat a protected class? At least height is genetic, being a fat fuck is about being lazy

Occasionally, you come across someone that is genetically predisposed to be fat and have glandular issues or pituitary gland issues that make them fat. Poor bastards, but the emotionally wrecked ones that eat their feelings and weigh over 400 lbs anger me for some reason. Maybe I just picture having to sit next to them on a plane or getting stuck behind their mobility scooter at the grocery store.

Fat shaming should make a comeback.
It's more than just that. This whole environment of no responsibility needs to be kicked into the sun. This is just an extension of "Everybody is a winner! We don't keep score in our games, because it makes the losing team feel bad" mentality.

You see this shit everywhere. This is just one consequence of it.

I have to say though is a food addiction to deal with stress a worse reflection on someone than say drinking or smoking? the actual damage there doing to people besides themselves seems much more limited, basically a bit of inconvenience compared to drunks being much more likely to be violent and smokers likely to have others breathing the fumes. Seems to me really the difference is being obese is viewed as unattractive whilst smoking and drinking have long been played up as "cool".

I do tend to think though that "fat acceptance" is dodgy, I don't think directly shaming people helps much BUT the reality is that being seriously overweight isnt healthy, "acceptance" seems to basically be looking to avoid dealing with the issue because it would cost too much money.

I very rarely see fat people since I moved out of the US. There is just something terribly wrong in the states. Genetics and some condition that makes you gain weight is a bullshit excuse.
There's a problem with the food, people's conception of food and what healthy eating is, and the lifestyle. Fast food being normal isn't normal. It isn't normal to feed kids sugary cereals and pop tarts for breakfast.
Some people thought I was a health nut because I put vegetables in my food lol. A normal amount of activity (walking, hiking) in other countries would be considered a workout in America.

The judge should throw that case out of court faster than her toilet grows legs and runs out of her house when she approaches it.

They don't use toilets, it a very large bath plumbed into the sewer....... With rodding points, because you know it's going to block every time.......

The driver is not wrong, depending on the car, she might exceed the weight limit the car is designed for.
Personally I would've shoe-horned her ass in there, just to see how she gets out.

Driver should have requested to attend a weigh bridge after placing the load evenly over the rear axle....... Then cited the maximum gross weight allowed for that model...... As the reason not to proceed further.......

I bet she told him she was only 250Ibs......

Fat shaming is a good thing.

You need friends to encourage you to get better, not say that it is ok.

The judge needs to laugh at her and get her on a diet.

This is sad. Yes, we need to body shame. Go to a gym and take care of your disgusting self. 🫣

Fat people are a burden on society, infrastructure, health care, and our kids.

£58 billion a year in the UK.

That's a fucking huge bill to avoid hurting some people's feelings and as a UK tax payer......... I'm going to say get to the gym and stop stuffing food in your mouth........ And appetite suppressant peptides are available now...... Which should be self funded because the vast majority of these people are fat from no self control.....

Really depends on the vehicle. If it's a corolla or a hyundai, this case gets thrown out. Lyft driver has a right to protect his vehicle. These guys wouldn't turn down a fare over discrimination, they fight for every dollar they make and hustle. In NYC in the 80s and 90s it was common for foreign yellow cab drivers to not even stop for black people. They claimed they got stiffed way too many times, and also held up by black customers. Now THAT could be discrimination.

At first glance it's a sensible excuse, but think about it another way - if you put two 250-pound guys in the backseat, no one would have any fears about that, and that's the same amount of weight. In fact, if a car WAS damaged by those two guys getting in, that would almost provoke a lawsuit, or at least incredulity that the car was so fragile.
