By way of example, it's the muscle tissue in marathon runners vs. the muscle tissue in 100m sprinters. Even strength over a long haul vs. fast explosive movement in short bursts.
 
Humans have three main muscle fiber types

Type IIB

Type IIA

and

Type I

Type IIB are your "ultra fast twitch" muscle fiber types. World lass sprinters, and weightlifters and shotputters have high amounts of this fiber type

Type IIA is your "fast twitch" muscle fibers. This is the most abundant form of fast twitch muscles, and is what most "normal" people have. They do not produce force as quickly as IIB, but dont tire as easily. For a reason unkown to science, resistance training causes the body to change IIB into IIA fibers. Training with very heavy weights, or training for maximal explosion ( Olympic style) is the best way to maintain as much type IIB fibers as you can.

Type I is your "slow twitch" fiber types. They produce force very slowly, but they have lots of hemoglobin in them. In animals this is known as "drak meat". Due to the rich hemoglobin content they can work for a long time without fatiguing. World class marathon runners, 10,00 meter runners, ironman athletes have high quantitites of this fiber type.

Which fiber is best for grappling is dependent upon your style of grappling/ fighting. A big strong powerful guy with lots of fast twitch muscles will probably have an explosive powerful game. A slow twitch guy will have a slower more methodical game plan
 
MMA is an good example of a sport which demands a good balance between power and endurance (fast & slow twitch). Although because of the nature of the sport it is entirely possible to succeed if you have a bias towards one or the other. Nevertheless in MMA this a significant reason why there are far more white people than W.African.

The 2 sports which probably demand the most balance between the 2 are swimming and rugby union/league. People of caucasian heritage on average tend to have the nearest to a 50/50 balance between the two which is a significant reaon why the above sports tend to feature largely people of caucasian heritage.

West Africans tend to have a bias towards fast twitch (excellent power/poor endurance) and East Africans the exact opposite. Orientals generally have a bias towards slow twitch but not to the same degree as East Africans (but on average more so than Caucasians).
 
They are more whites in sports in general than W. Africans,simply becuase they are more preoccupied with making a living than sports. bad example dude

You can't change the muscle fiber proportion in your body. You can however maximise it.

Whites dominate even the latter. The reason is swimming is an upper middle class sport at the amateur level, and doesn't even have a professional level. So it's kinda the same reason you don't see "West Africans" winning any national yachting championships.

Here is one reason I think this is nonsense. Africans have the highest genetic diversity on the planet, due to the fact that this is where almost all of human evolution took place. However, most of that genetic diversity is concentrated in a small number of people, like the Koisan of South Africa or the Pygmies of Central Africa. The great majority of Africans are descended from peoples that emigrated from the Cameroon area. So the people of East Africa are genetically very similar to the people from West Africa.
 
Blacks do have a higher bone density on average than whites. I know this because the equations used to determin body composition from underwater weighing have a different bone density value for blacks. That makes swimming harder. People with more muscle mass have a harder time swimming too. Density SINKS.

I find it amusing when some people think talking about any differences in the races is racist. The fact is we ARE different. We evolved in different environments, under different demands. WE ARE physically and mentally different, with different strengths and weaknesses. That doesn't make any race superior, just addapted to different things.
