It's kind of strange that you act like you even could care about farmers.
I'm well aware that you think the concept of empathy is strange.
You guys dismissed their needs by spouting "Land doesn't vote!" nonsense.
What needs were dismissed? Their need for...money? They voted against their own interest there. Their need for...labor? They voted against their own interest there. Their need for...healthcare? They voted against their own interest there. So by all means, please enlighten us as to what needs farmers have that were dismissed, because from what I've seen living amongst these people, their needs are very similar to everybody else's needs—they just routinely vote against their own interests.
Why do they do that? Obviously it can't be for economic reasons, because Republicans are, and have been, far worse for the economy—particularly the lower and middle classes. That's not even debatable, though if you're feeling up to it I would absolutely love to debate you on that—I'll even start a new thread about it if you want.
So what other reasons could it be? Guns? Trannies? Religion? Eggs? Gas? List them, and let's talk about it.
Beyond that, the "land doesn't vote" concept isn't a dismissal of farmer's needs—it's a dismissal of the idea that just because the vast majority of
counties in the country are conservative, doesn't mean that the vast majority of the
country is conservative, which conservatives often like to trot out during election season. Which, ironically, is more them dismissing the needs of liberals—not the other way around.
Fact is, they could be raking in the dough and you would still have this adolescent hatred towards them.
I'm not sure what their level of wealth has to do with it? Are you under the impression that I hate them because they're poor*? In what way does that even make sense?
* You're misrepresenting my position. I don't hate farmers. I hate certain things about the majority of farmers in this country. That's an important distinction.
