F.C.C. Repeals Net Neutrality Rules... Thanks Trump.

they didnt they use their lobbyists like last time. ur saying the comcast lobby is stronger than all of them combined?
well, they are all now subject to their isp overlords...so its within the realm of possibility that comcast, verizon, etc. are, in fact, more powerful. its also highly likely that many of them cut deals with the isp's.

If Verizon messes with my google map and I get lost, I will pull up a Thomas guide, driver to their headquarters and fill their server room with uppercuts

not a single person will benefit from NN being gone except for comcast.
If you hate Capitalism and America so much then why don't you move.
Trump is winning for the middle class, with repealing Hussein Obama's shitty laws.
Go find a safe space you pinko commie.

Listen with everyone cutting the cord, how do you expect these media job creators to make money.

The other thing people are bitching about these companies being able to spy on you.
Well stop watching cuck porn and you have nothing to worry about.
If you are not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about, when your internet usage is being tracked.
"Oh No. 69% of Sherdog posters are worried about someone tracking the massive amounts of tranny porn they watch"
You know who else is always watching, Jesus.

You know who im talking bout homey.

You and the other Trumptard/right-wingers who all pretend to be professors of markets and capitalism. Glad you finally realized youre gonna be taking that big red Verizon cack up yer arse on this one.

Yea except it isnt going to happen like that in this country ever and were all going to end up fucked majorly because of how dominant tribal politics is. its hard to vote for the other side depending on what your issues are but I agree the best thing to do at the moment is fire them all on election day.

Not to go all doom and gloom but I think it might be too late to stop corporations from taking over our country
It was too late after Citizens United.

I said it once I'll say it a minion times, old out of touch men making important decisions about technology for younger generations.

Pathetic
You should just copy and paste this into the next reproductive choice thread.

You can get all you can eat packages.

But i thought the root of the argument was that data should be considered a necessity utility -- video streaming to me is not a necessity. Basic connectivity for emails and government forms /services., sure.

But is netflix and gaming a necessity to the point that government has to step in to protect cost on them? Is that not a luxury?

just to play devils advocate.
Look at it another way. Do you want it to be like cable? You pay for a certain package that gets only certain stuff (which they happen to own also) and there's a bunch of stuff tied in with it that you never use but have to pay for anyway because it's part of the package, all the good stuff, say, research, will require a premium package and so on. No one can want that other than the people who will make money from it.

This is what I don't get. Corporations are supposed to be voracious animals that will do anything to make more money than their competitors but will willingly forego all that to work together on this?

It makes sense. If the few big isp's agree to throttle Internet speeds, then there's nowhere else to go, and they all make more money.

Fuck this is the most millenial quote ever. I say that as what should be one. Anyone under 25 lives in an age where privacy doesnt matter. They want the attention. You're a retard if you dont understand basic online privacy concerns. If you only understood how easy it is to spy on your online traffic, ISP or not, it would disturb you. All it takes is your IP and a little bit of force. were talking bank transactions, bitcoin wallet creations. Imagine some dude keylogging you when you create your bitcoin wallet or when you go log in. They transfer your money and its gone. Nothing you can do. Might worry about it now, right?

So you claim that it will be purely for you to discover what is being limited and no one will be able to find out and post about it in forums like that?

"You" is going to be someone, whether it's you or I or someone else. And for all of the people who aren't on forums, that is going to be even more difficult for them.

What it's not going to be is a letter mailed to your house that specifically discloses what is being limited.

That's a very astute observation. No one truly has a rational expectation of online privacy. It's the nature of the beast.
