No. This is far from pointless bitching, we just lost a HW title match because of it.

It doesn't ALWAYS result in a loss, but it creates a huge advantage, and to deny that is silly.

Everyone here has "watched a lot of fights," that's not much of an appeal to authority.
 
Problem is fouls.arent taken seriously and punished like they matter and they never have been. And anyone that's ever actually been in a fight and been eye gouged, nut shot or sucker punched knows how seriously those things can effect the outcome of a fight.

Maybe a guys relatively ok after one shot to.the nuts, eye poke or.shot to the back of the head and maybe he's completely compromised and only the fighter himself knows how bad it is, and has to try to make that call in real time.

Often with the fans booing and shitting on the fouled fighter instead of the cheater.

Because it very rarely ends in a NC and never ends in a DQ.

Most of the time it ends with the poker getting a verbal warning and then winning the fight later because their opponent can't see right
 
It has been said many times, but the assessment of "intentional" or not shouldn't matter. You're warned in the locker room. First one is a point, regardless. Same for nut shots and fence grabs.

Second time? DQ loss imo.

There's no way a ref can be sure if the first instance of any foul was intentional, but they shouldn't be burdened with making that determination.

Refs in other sports have no issue calling a foul and determining the penalty. Not sure why it's so unreasonable to expect MMA refs to do the same.

Good points here. If a defensive lineman hits a quarterback late or makes helmet to helmet contact, there is no need to determine if it was intentional- a foul is a foul, as it should be.

No, they're almost never incidental. Fighters are coming out saying this. Jon Jones himself said he knows it's illegal but he does it anyway. And it's not the gloves either.

This was shaping up to be a competitive fight, such that the advantage caused by impaired vision from an illegal shot COULD have imparted sufficient change in the trajectory of the fight to possibly affect the outcome. We have seen NUMEROUS TIMES where a fighter gets fouled and finished shortly after whilst trying to fight on in a compromised state.

Effectively what the entire tard army is saying right now is:


"The HW champ should have risked his legacy and title by fighting with impaired vision because that means I get what I want and I don't care who else gets hurt as long as I get what I want."


Unfortunately for Gane, many of you in the tard army, Chael, Anthony Smith, etc.... Tom has enough backbone to not cave to pressure and cave to the crybabies, he was willing to stand up for himself and not get fucked over and placate cheating, whether it be intentional or not. Yall gotta wait and it will get rebooked and hopefully we get a fair fight then and may the best man win.

Good point on the locker room warning.
Why warn them there and then warn them another time in the cage? (and then again)

Immediate point deduction if fouled fighter can continue. If not, DQ loss. That's it.
It would quickly solve this epokes etc. I'm pretty sure.

imagine if in soccer even the most smaller contact is sanctioned with a yellow card: from 11 vs 11 we'll end 5 vs 5 in the first half.

fouls happen everywhere, everytime and more often than not they are accidental.
this time people are crazy just because it's happened to their favorite fighter...

people now are emotional because their favorite fighter has gotten eyepoked but come on, be rational and unbiased.
