It's not my favorite series but i always enjoyed it. I'm busy as shit these days so I certainly play less than when I was a youngster.

Fundamentally the issue here is how much control should consumers have over artist output. And people who complain about stuff like this have a ridiculous view of it and entitlement. It'd be like going to Da Vinci and whining about how you don't like his art. It's dumb.

Im aware people wanted an AC game in Japan. I was one of them. But that was back when AC was still good. Now it just feels like they're finally doing it because they've run out of ideas. And it still doesn't explain everyone crying over Yasuke.

True artists make art for the love of the endeavour or the finish vision they have. But a centuries old artist isn't really comparable to a modern corporation that needs to make money by selling multiple copies or subscriptions to something rather than making a one off masterpiece.

The artists can of course make whatever they want. But the woke crap they churn out is being spurned and at the point that they become completely unprofitable and no longer propped up by other endeavours, they may need to rethink their strategy.

I also think it's ridiculous to think the nonsense that goes on with political ideology being shoe horned into games, movies, tv etc is the same motivation as a classical painter etc.

The entire argument is just logically invalid really and ultimately ridiculous.

I mean...not really. Almost every "true artist" has has a financial backer. Da Vince, if you're referring to him, was no different. He did plenty of contract and commercial work to fund his own stuff.
