Hope you had a good ride sweetie
Ain't got nothin' on CAPTAIN FREEDOM'S workout.
Hope you had a good ride sweetie
They definitely didn't fuck up here though, it's just "right wing grifters"![]()
Ubisoft didn't even bothered to panic wrestle and blame western gamers who were just using google translate to trash the game. They just straight up quit.

Go a couple of posts up from the one you quoted to start this nonsense.I mean, who are you even talking about? House of the dragon?
Who's wearing a woke blanket? What?
Did Furiosa not flop pretty badly. Defeating the central premise of your own thread.I don't think so. I think if Aliens was made today there'd be people calling it woke but it'd probably still smash the box office because it's awesome. It checks A LOT of political boxes but it's really well made.
To be honest I think saying there's some subjectivity to it is a tremendous understatement. To even have this discussion I have to ask what woke is and I get no answer or a different one from many people. IIRC there was a thread after some conservative who wrote a book about it and she couldn't even define woke when put on the spot. Judging by Sherdog and snippets I see from social media it varies from people whining about identity, to complaining about race/gender swapping, to people who just seem to be mad at non-white characters, to blowhards like William who whine and incite divisiveness by calling out "the message" constantly and even straight up misconstruing scenes in shows and movies to push his "message", to people who just say they see clear and corny political messaging.
As far as those characters the internet was around back then so I can't say, plus, kinda to my point, those movies were good. As far as Furiosa I'm pretty sure I saw people on here complain about it/her and I remember rumblings of whining about Fury Road being feminist when it came out. People also lost their shit about a black stormtrooper which made no fucking sense at all. John Boyega was harassed (dunno how much in real life but definitely on the internets), it's common for black people though they don't always talk about it and I've never seen any evidence that racist/sexist/homophobic losers are the reason for a project tanking, but at the same time they do catch a lotta shit.
Edit: I gotta add in Barbie here. There was a meltdown about it but it still made shit loads of money. I've not seen it but heard it's good and the politics, wokeness or whatever was overblown which doesn't surprise me.
Rey/those movies and the LOTR series sucks. To be fair I've not watched RoP, looks like ass though. The SW sequels still made a shit ton of money though they fell off quick, with Rise making half of what TFA made. But again, dog shit. There were definitely white feminist politics in TLJ but that whole movie sucked a barrel of wangs for SO many reasons lol. Lil Johnson made a movie where everything was the opposite of what people wanted to see, on purpose. It was one giant fuck you to the audience from a little troll. I digress lol, anyway.
I agree with subtlety in story telling 1,000%, it's a great sign of quality. Diversity is more lauded and appreciated ever before which is why companies prioritize it, but if the story is trash and the people making it suck, it just comes off as ham fisted and paper thin liberal politics, which some companies/producers use as a shield when they put out dog shit, like with the new Charlie's Angels or The Acolyte, which is fuel for grifters like William and his cohort.
Completely agree with the character's on the nose exposition too, I hate that shit.
The dumb male character I've seen in Ghostbusters 2016 (I didn't watch it but that's what it looked like) but I haven't seen much, however I'm very selective with what shows and movies I watch these days. The white guy being bad I dunno about, white dudes being a big bad villain is nothing new (and white people are still the majority of the population with white men still being overall the richest and most powerful), the bigger change I've seen with with women and minorities being featured more often, more prominently, and more humanely as time goes on. Race swapping I've but not noticed as much as others seem to make a big deal out of, and from what I understand there's different Spidermans/womans and other characters like The Flash aren't a singular person. The queen of England one or whatever struck me as corny and amusing but I wasn't offended nor going to watch that anyway lol. I know The Witcher and House of the Dragon did that too, no one seemed to care much, though from what I understand The Witch has problems (that have nothing to do with that).
Quality defeats both "go woke, go broke" and "our/show movie failed because of hateful people! Men don't wanna watch movies with women in them!", statements that both seem to be categorically untrue IMO, or at least we can point to a lot of examples that suggest otherwise.

It's funny watching Deviant-e spin losing arguments as wins like the special needs kid in classBoth of these recountances are inaccurate. For example, per the Portland thread, I was accused of citing a budget figure for the Portland Metro area, but in fact, my figure was for the city only, which I then showed, plainly, yet those who were defeated on that point tried to save face over an objectively irrefutable fact by projecting an an assertion onto me through infererence which I never expressed. T
Of course, the only thing that would generate this level of off-topic ad hominem and animosity is the frustration of repeatedly losing debates.
I actually watched Terminator 2 yesterday and it isn’t just about Sarah Connor, the scientist behind Skynet is black, she has her Mexican friends and there’s a lot of Spanish in the movie.Personally i always felt its not "wokeness" itself thats the problem , its that writing usually fucking sucks on average
Like heres some succesful stuff that can be considered "woke"
Expanse was diverse as fuck with characters of every race and sex yet S1 to S4 were peak goat level scifi and show overall was good
Arcane has female lead who is a lesbian and show is one of the best in recent years.
Original alien trilogy with ripley as main lead, strong female character written well
Sarah connor in T2,once again strong female lead written well
No one would have problem with galadriel in ring of retards if it was same character as in Lotr trilogy, but writing sucks so character is a moron and whoever writes it should be thrown into fires of mount doom
Ubisoft pulled out because their investors are currently in the process of trying to usurp the company from the Guillemot family. Not everything is tied to your stupid culture war. You should turn off the brainrot and go touch some grass.

But it was an amazing movie, and even if it was not, they weren’t hiding by accusations of racism and sexism in case the movie bombed.
Plus, everybody knows diversity can actually be an asset because you can film scenes that you couldn’t do if the lead was male, like when that creepy guy at the psych ward licks Sarah’s face when she’s restrained, and the payoff when she kills him. Plus, the whole storyline about losing her kid (technically can be applied to a male lead, but not typically)

The woke virus is currently infesting the Game of Thrones universe too sadly. One of the showrunners is a gay woman and they made the two Queens in House of Dragon have some kind of unrequited lesbian love story.
They literally made it lame and gay.
That's interesting, it partly shows when we watched old films before "WOKE!!!!" was a thing, we very rarely noticed inclusivity.
Inclusivity, if done well, has no need to be jarring. But if inclusivity is done well and is still jarring because of "WOKE!!!!" then I'm afraid we actually are into people simply commenting on skin colour - which is a massive regression from where we were 30 years ago.
But it's pretty clear that the wider "WOKE!!!!" crowd are very, very selective. If they like it, even if it's woke as shit, it's somehow not woke at all - like House of the Dragon which ticks a bunch of woke boxes. Colour is literally at the heart of the narrative, with silver haired and black haired offspring intentionally interchanged between families in order to remove the potential for a colour-based accusation altogether. Then you have a huge number of black characters who didn't seem to exist in Westeros in GoT for some reason (maybe there's a canonical reason for it, I don't know). Then, on top of all that, it's pretty clearly a 'fall of the patriarchy' storyline and all the most major characters are female.
If any of that is bothersome, I think it really is because some people are too well-trained to heed dogwhistle politics. But it's kind of undeniable that if the "WOKE!!!!" crowd decided they didn't like it, they'd use all those reasons much like they did with Rings of Power - and use them wrongly.
The whole House Velaryon being reimagined as black was a controversy for a few nitwits, but with George RR Martin actually being alive, they just had him say "that's how I imagined it all along" and they could give a big middle finger to the "WOKE!!!!" crowd who now pretend it wasn't "WOKE!!!!" at all mainly because they like the show.
Sorry, @Yehudim got sidetracked there bud.
Lmao.
You are aware that original game of thrones had tons of gay stuff, correct?
You remember the knight that nearly got killed by the mountain in the jousting contest in season 1?
He was gay.
He had gay sex with Renly...who was gay.
You remember Reek's sister? She was a lesbo.
You remember Oberyn Martell? The guy who probably has the most epic fight scene in the series with The Mountain? He liked the gay sex as well my dude.
Yea but that was all part of the story GRRM wrote.
This unrequited lesbian love story is completely made up and inserted into the story for politics. They had to completely change the story arcs of two major characters from the books to do it.
GRRM even wrote on his blog criticizing the direction the series is going.
What difference does it make whether GRRM wrote it or not? Lmao.
I have not watched HOD and figured it would be trash since GRRM did not write it. However, having gay characters in a GOT series seems pretty par for the course based on everything GRRM has written whether the lesbo storyline is trash or not lol.
GRRM wrote the House of Dragon story in his book Fire and Blood.
I have zero problem with there being gay characters. I have a problem with changing the story to insert an LGBTQ storyline for modern political reasons. It completely changed the story arc. The two women were mortal enemies in the books. They made them secretly in love now. It's just plain stupid.

what?
You are here joking around. Meanwhile I just saw on youtube that Kathleen Kennedy is planning on casting Furries as Ewoks in the next Star Wars movie and I just shit my pants in disgust and you may find it funny that they are destroying Ewok lore but I am stuck here with my pants full of shit and I am not laughing.
