Exposing the Grift: Go Woke Go Broke

"The fact that this patient has been in a coma for a decade is irrelevant, he must have died of cooties"

What was the last great game ubisoft made?
The fact that this analogy has nothing to do with the argument at hand makes it completely irrelevant.

Chicken or the egg?
Business practices. The issues with the gaming industry are well known. There's ten trillion "woke" things that do well financially, that's kinda the point of the thread. As we've seen, companies will make their money however they think they can get it. Turns out white, conservative, heterosexual men are not the only ones who like entertainment nor the only demographic in the world who spend money - hence the meow fluid and nebulous term "woke"

It depends on how do you define the word taken from 1950s black people does it not? That is the real trick.

If you were to time travel into the 90s or 2000s most POCS would be disgusted by the excesses of recent gaming and entertainment nonsense. What do you think they would think of the Dragon Age doing the Barv scene?

Buddy, why can't you name the last Ubisoft game that was good or great?

Could it be it's because you don't know video games, or is it that it's been so long?
Chicken or the egg?
Ubisoft had the lowest revenue per employee almost a decade ago, and they've had fumble and bust, one after another.

It's a classic mismanaged company that hasn't adapted to the modern gaming landscape. The toxic workplace and uncompetitive pay didn't help either, when you got devs who can literally get a best in the industry benefits package at Microsoft instead.

Nah man it's probably just woke. Don't ask me to define it though.

I didn't stop playing Splinter Cell games because they became watered down, bland action fests after Chaos Theory, it was the woke. Ubisoft's launcher is great actually btw

Don't forget Skull & Bones. It was the woke Singaporeans!

Ubisoft Needs More Assassin’s Creed Shadows Sales to Succeed

"While Ubisoft hasn’t revealed the exact amount it spent developing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, expert estimates place it between $250 million and $350 million. With the standard edition of the game priced at $70, and most retailers taking 30% of sales, Assassin’s Creed Shadows would need to move roughly 5.1 million units to break even on a $250 million budget. Bump that to the high-end estimate of $350 million, and it would need about 7.1 million copies sold."

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Hasn’t Sold 1 Million Units Yet

"Investors will also want to be very careful with how they interpret Ubisoft’s 1 million players announcement. The game developer didn’t say these were sales, but rather people who played the game. That’s because Assassin’s Creed Shadows was included in Ubisoft+ Premium on launch. This is the company’s subscription service, which costs $17.99 per month. A portion of gamers may have played the Sahdows this way instead of shelling out $70 for the game. If they don’t renew their subscriptions after finishing Shadows, this could eat into Ubisoft’s revenue."

Article is from two days ago but 'players' doesn't equal 'buyers.'

Buddy, why are you stuck on something that just doesnt matter

Man utd are crap because their defence sucks and their midfield sucks

This movie is bad because the writing is bad and the acting is bad

1 thing being shit is not evidence that another thing is not also a contributing factor

Your argument is invalid and irrelevant

You've had it well defined to you every 20 pages or so of this thread

You just disappear for a while and then come back and pretend it didnt happen. Hilarious stuff

And yet you still can't explain how wokeness brought down Ubisoft, a company that's been notably mismanaged for a decade now.

It's as if you don't play video games and just try to claim everything that goes wrong in gaming is due to wokeness.

And yet you still cant understand how the fact that there are also other factors contributing to poor movies, poor games, poor TV shows is not a refutation of the fact that wokeness also has a negative impact.

This is a very simple idea. I don't understand how your are failing to comprehend it.

It's as if you don't play video games and just try to claim everything that goes wrong in gaming is due to wokeness.

Its as if you are incapable of honest debate and create strawmen arguments and take things out of context or descend off down some bizarre rabbit hole of inane questions.

No one has ever said wokeness is the only reason things fail. This a ridiculous pivoting of thr argument by you and deviante because you have been getting your shit pushed in metaphorically for years now on this topic.

Your absolute certainty i dont play video games is incorrect.

As is 99.9% of everything you post on sherdog. ;)

By the way
Gamestop is selling off its canadian and french assets due to "wokeness"

Though , as usual and strangely enough, the wokeness has not been elaborated on, but it ominously strikes again.

GameStop selling Canadian and French operations as CEO laments 'wokeness'

By assets do they mean stores? So there won't be Gamestop in Canada and France any longer?

The article and news on the issue is really unclear.

Im one of the few that actually likes to get games there and would be bummed if they closed.

But all the ones I know of in are still open since the article and the its indicated theyve made more profit than last year.

So who knows?

Ceo probable wanted to cash in on the wokeness boogie monster plaguing everything

Woke, wikety wokety woke Coming to getcha!

What are the top 5 biggest failures/problems that have hurt Ubisoft? Gonna bet they aren't predominantly woke.

And if you play videogames, why can't you say the last time Ubisoft made a great game? You should be able to answer easily, even if you haven't played it. Is it because it blows apart your argument when Ubisoft's fundamental issue is they don't make enough good and successful games?

It doesn’t blow apart my argument, it blows apart the strawman argument you created

The fact that things fail for reasons other than being woke is not evidence that making woke crap is not a bad thing.

I don’t know how you repeatedly fail to understand this, it is a very simple concept.

No one is arguing things can be bad and not woke and they will be profitable. Nor are they arguing that wokeness is the only reason things fail.

If you are determined to argue against the strawmen you have invented, go and find someone to take up those counter arguments, I’m not obligated to indulge in your silliness.
