From this thread I have determined that something is only woke when it performs poorly. Regardless of the themes, if it does well it is not woke. Now I know that sounds like it makes no logical sense but.........

I quoted you and him referencing frozen. Because both movies are both woke and successful. Same with force awakens.

Personally I think this entire thread is retarded. Media is either in line with what you like to see or not. Woke vs not woke always boils down to if you liked it or not. Everyone tries so hard to justify their preferences and push it on others and it's pointless.

To a large extent i would agree with this

But, I think it's pretty clear that the vast majority of entertainment made for woke reasons is trash.

Are Barbie, Wicked and Frozen woke? Not really. They are made for women, girls and homosexuals.

Trying to take a traditionally male dominated IP and turn it into something for women, girls and homosexuals is woke. Making Barbie for little girls who used to play with barbies isn't "going woke". It's catering to the established audience.

That's the dishonesty of the other side of this debate.

The phrase they are arguing against is "go woke, go broke".

Not "IPs traditionally marketed at women can't make money".

This is such a dumb argument. Why aren't people allowed to enjoy things.

By the same token if someone with enough money bought all the biggest MMA leagues and turned them into morris dancing competitions and we never got to enjoy high level MMA again, everyone should just accept it and be happy.

Course they're allowed to enjoy things, but I'd hope they have more going on in their lives that a bad portrayal of some IP they like is only a minor annoyance, not a call for internet pitchforks and torches.
