I think he is a good as a physical therapist but a little iffy when it comes to training. I do like some of his stuff when it comes to injury prevention or working out with an injury. I don't have experience with his paid programs so I was wondering if they are different or not vs stuff he puts out for free.
I have a honest critique about him. His content is marketed for beginners but it isn't optimal for beginners. If you are intermediate level then the stuff he shows is kind of redundant. He always has these videos like so and so is killing your gains. He will flip flop on the issue every so often a few months down the line. I get why he needs to make these videos because these type of video titles are what will capture the eyes of new viewers. They want to learn the secret method and avoid killing their gains blah blah. Other youtubers like Ryan Humiston do stuff like that. The thing I didn't quite understand was the whole fake weights scandal. He is a DPT by trade? He doesn't need to use fake weights for a demo.
I’ve never tried his paid programs as I feel his YouTube videos were enough for me.. I’m also not a beginner I’ve been working out my whole life. I just had to make tweaks as I was using my front delts during bench press, and my traps were engaging too much when I did shoulder lateral raises - had no idea I was doing em wrong.
The fake weight controversy doesn’t make sense as he never lifts heavy weights lol he’s not even about PRs. But yah a lot of guys hated on him before and I feel it’s because he was making too much sense.
