I've been interested in making a home gym in my basement for a while, and finally made some orders, like 100 square feet of gym mats and a 20" TV to play DVDs, a half-dozen kettlebells, and one thing I was very surprised by was the expensive box sets of exercise routines that used to be advertised on TV and on the internet are now shockingly cheap on Ebay.

Anyone remember George St. Pierre's version 'RushFit?' Its $18.

This 'RIPT90 FIT' set is $40 on Amazon.

2010 RKS Reinhardt Kettlebell System DVD Set - $20

And dozens more that I saw.

Anyway, for those that have been wanting to get into shape but the costs of a gym membership and personal training are too expensive to you, thought this may be of interest.

Insanity! is legit followed by a clean diet will provide great results
Thanks for the heads up I'll be buying it again when I have the means to use it

P90x is good also you just need a set of adjustable dumbells and some resistance bands from what I remember but both are worth it are easy to follow along with with the various levels provided in the videos

I tend to use YouTube and follow their workouts… YouTube probably has all these too

Also available to download on...

But in my experience, when you pay money for something you value it more. If you don't pay for it it'll collect dust... or take up room on your phone or harddrive.

Nobody owns a DVD player anymore. I will be surprised if anyone's modern PC even has a CD/DVD slot.

A lot of these oldie programs aren't really optimal. P90x if I remember correctly has you doing 7 a day workouts. You might as well just find a better program and individualize it for yourself.

Blurays players, Playstation 2/3/4, and Xbox/360/One... all play DVDs and many still have one in storage.
I honestly don't own any of the things you listed. If I want to play a DVD. I have to go to my local university and visit their computer lab with a visitor's pass.

It’s a great way to workout though, I am impressed. It keeps you engaged. I followed an ab routine with Athlean-X and it killed

How are his training programs? A lot of people online trash him. I know people's online persona and what they show for free doesn't match their training programs. I would like to pick your brain about it.

So he teaches the correct way of doing exercises. His focus is longevity. I learnt the correct way of doing the bench press from him lol yes there is a wrong way of doing bench press. He’s like a Physio guy kindve..

I think the hate he gets is jealousy because he’s so legit and he’s really got the ppl locked in on him.

The one thing I wish I didn’t learn from athlean x is that the shoulder “upright row” is bad for u. I feel like it’s such a great way to bulk up your shoulders mainly side delts, but it is so bad for your shoulder joints. Thus I avoid it
