I can think of a few but almost all are at HW (Brock, Gane, Cormier), and in the case of Gane he had literally custom made matchups along the way.

Pereira is another recent example in a non HW division although he again had quite favorable matchups. Khamzat could be considered the other but he had a few years of fighting before getting in the UFC so not sure if he would even qualify as an example.

Jon Jones would be another but come on bro that's a high standard......

Bo is very quickly going to be in there with someone like Viera, for example.

Conor not only had a short path, his path went through Aldo.

Weidman had a very short path that went through Anderson

Cejudo had a setback after getting rushed to a title shot, but he rallied back just fine. I think that worked out well for him.

When he fell on his ass performing that high kick, he was looking like he has Matt Riddle type striking

His hands seem fine. I guess he doesnt mind awkward kicks while being a great wrestler.

I think the way to go with Bo is to give him someone ranked in the 11-15 range next. If he loses, oops. If he wins a tough fight, take it slow. If he steamrolls his opponent, move him into fighting top 10 guys.

Answering TS' question, I think Brock and Pereira are the only guys in what I consider the modern era to get to the top at a rate similar to Bo's current trajectory. Before 2005 there were a lot of guys near the top with few fights. BJ fought Jens for the strap in his 4th fight. He beat Gomi and Hughes in his 8th and 9th fights. The Prodigy was a fitting moniker. That was all in the old days, though.

Jones and Khamzat were 6-0 before the UFC. Bones fought for the belt in his 14th pro fight. At 12-0, Khamzat is on pace to match Jones.

I wasn't impressed. I could've formed more of an opinion if they separated them after Bo got in that knee to the nuts.

Does it really count as fast-tracking for guys who had over 20 pro fights and had already beaten highly ranked opponents?

Sure, they were fast tracked in their UFC career, but it's hardly the same as guys with fewer than 5 pro fights.
Using this metric Brock Lesnar wins, followed by Alex Pereira.

BJ Penn got fast tracked, hard.

Stumbled here and there from time to time but he still accomplished a ton of great shit.

yeah what the fuck was that? i am surprised Peterson didnt stop the fight when he saw Pickett wince and close his legs together. bad referee error. that just leaves more questions for Bo - is he really that good? i dont think he threw the nutshot on purpose; he doesnt seem like a dirty fighter and kneeing to the body always carries that risk, but it just puts a damper on his victory.

hes a low blow ball kicker....

I saw nothing impressive...

Nickal is getting fast tracked, or will be, but its nothing like Pereira, thats a 2 division kickboxing champion.

He said recently in a interview he needs to stop throwing those crazy high kicks and falling on his ass...I think he's learning pretty fast.

Especially considering rampage was coming from a more competitive organization, and had a W over the UFC champ.
