Crime Ex-cop Derek Chauvin, who was convicted of killing George Floyd, stabbed in prison

Chauvin is an idiot that deserves what he gets. He should have left George in the back of the police cruiser when he said he couldn't breathe. Then it would have been a simple fentanyl overdose death.
You know that's not true. These lefties would have called it murder by claustrophobia...

Him ever, in the history of ever, beating up women or being a "pos"...is utterly irrelevant to why he's been "canonized" and why he's a symbolic figure. Keep concentrating on that though.

Forgive the flippant responses about a casual, dehumanizing murderer being mocked for getting stabbed in jail. Chauvin is the problem in this issue, he's the convicted murderer. Not George Floyd.

You just gave yourself away so easily, and I didn't even have to try.

Floyd beating up women is "irrlevant", and you felt the need to put POS in quotes about him as though you don't agree that women beaters are pieces of shit. Well...not when they can be useful for a cause you believe in anyway!

Thanks for confirming your hypocrisy as well.

OK, so both guys are pieces of shit, but one got killed by a Law Enforcement Officer who supposedly didn't know his history, and the other got stabbed by an inmate who probably knew him as a LEO that at best contributed to the death of someone in his custody by his wanton disregard to his condition. Also the main thing people seem to overlook is that Chauvin not only ignored the complaints of his victim but also about half a dozen bystanders that were pleading with him to lift his knee off the guy's neck.

I'm not sure your point...?

I'm talking about posters here, not who knew what at the time of the crimes. IDGAF about Chauvin, made that pretty clear. And I can say he has fault in the death of Floyd and should be punished while also not giving a fuck about Floyd himself.

I'm talking about those here who ripped anyone on this forum that spoke of how shitty a person Floyd was and that it didn't mean he deserved what happened yet turn around and gleefully love that Chauvin was stabbed.

I'm consistent, the world won't miss either of them.

That isn't really how symbolism works, I can't imagine how you'd paint Chauvin as a victim in service of a global cause.

Floyd was trash and I don't think I've ever celebrated him, but I've supported the good that came out of his death. Do you think Chauvin's death is going to inspire anyone to do any good?

I know conservatives hate BLM and label all the looting and vandalism as their work but that's nonsense, they stand opposed to those things. While they are made up of more than fifty chapters with no central leadership and some less than reputable leaders have said some questionable things, anyone who does is condemned by the rest of the group(s). Cullors, the most visible and hated of them, has been criticized by some activists for being all about the fund raising and discouraging people from any protests that might not play in the public.

You're right about prison violence. Overcrowding and poor management in for-profit prisons are huge problems, and I'd support any movement to correct them regardless of who inspired it.

Honestly, nothing would surprise me regarding who'd be used to rally support around a cause anymore.

There are ways to show that what Chauvin did is unacceptable and egregious WITHOUT trying to turn Floyd into a canonized martyr.

We don't do society favors when we make up fairy tales about people like Floyd only to further a cause. The more it happens, the more accepted it becomes.

You're right, I just don't care. It isn't important.

I cringe when I see paintings of him with a halo, and then I consider the cause and ignore it. I'll never say he was anything but trash, though.

Chauvin deserved some time for Criminal Negligence. He should have called in for emergency medical aid when Floyd could not breath in the back of police SUV. His failure there was pretty profound. The dude was dying. I don't want to see Chauvin murdered in prison. That's a step too far.

Categorically, breaking the law is wrong. I think they'd be morally even if someone twisted the knife for 12 minutes and then killed him. I think it is weird to do this on any day other than the one before he gets released. But people are going to do what they are going to do.

Completely, and utterly irrelevant.

In other words, "George Floyd deserved to die and Chauvin is kinda a hero"

That would be how you could interpret what I said, sure.

If you have an IQ at the level of a potted plant.

Me: Both are pieces of shit, the world won't miss either.

You: Durr you think Chauvin is a hero!!

What is the purpose of trying to make yourself look stupid? Why are you seemingly doing exactly that? I'm not even joking. I don't think you're actually an idiot, but it's like you desire for everyone to believe you are.

You really need to stop calling me stupid lol. I'm being nice...

George Floyd being a "pos", is completely irrelevant to any of this. But you are attempting to make it relevant. I get that you want to attack the people who are making fun of a murderer getting stabbed in prison, but your approach is dumb.

You need to be a little less emotional about this. Nobody has ever deified George Floyd for his shitty behavior prior to him getting murdered on camera. You don't seem to understand the basic reasons why people make stupid drawings of him or silly statues of him so it's hard to have conversations with you.

Not a good look for the American prison system to be honest. You knew the guy was going to be targeted yet they let it happen anyway.

i mean they have to figure that he's a target. he's a racist dirty cop, and he murdered a black dude and caused nationwide riots. he's gonna have a target on his back from day one. he needs to be kept in solitary for 23 hours a day with the light on and the camera's rolling at all time for his own safety, receive his meals through the slot on his door, and spend his one free hour being shackled up and escorted by guards back and forth to a caged off cubicle to pace around in to get his exercise. this should be his day in prison from now until the day he finishes serving his murder sentence. nothing more, nothing less.

every day should be the same for this caged animal. that's how you rehabilitate these people. especially when they didn't even have the gall to show remorse for their terrible crimes. make him wish that another inmate would have killed him, but dont actually allow it to happen and let him have the easy way out. don't even allow them shoelaces, blankets, or anything that he could possibly kill himself with. make every one of their days spent in prison just as miserable as the last.

i dont know why they took him out of solitary in the minnesota state prison and put him in a medium security facility under more lenient watch. i wonder if the prison guards will get a promotion or get put on temporary paid leave for allowing this to happen on their watch? surely they have to know that inmates are going to get at him if they have the opportunity. how did they manage to let this one slide?

derek chauvin got access to paramedics and received immediate lifesaving medical treatment after he refused to comply and walked into a mostly peaceful shank in prison, even though derek chauvin and the 4 other convicted cops had denied george floyd access to paramedics and immediate lifesaving medical treatment during the 8 minutes and 46 seconds they were murdering him. i guess prisoners really do have more rights and privileges than citizens these days.

Dude, I said I do NOT think you're stupid, which makes this path you've chosen so bizarre.

Yes yes and now claim I'm emotional, yawn. How about we bypass the "No, you're triggered!" stuff and be grown ups? Cool?

Floyd being a POS is absolutely relevant to the parts of this that I'm discussing.

The problem with your argument is that certain behaviors **should** in our society restrict you from being deified for any reason.

If someone for example discovers a cure for cancer and then gets convicted of molesting kids, they don't get a statue because "Hey we aren't putting up this statue for his child molestation, it's for his cancer research!" Maybe some want that statue put up, but the issue isn't me "not understanding why". It's that the shitty things he did mean he shouldn't get to be glorified for anything else. In the case of Floyd, trust me I get that they're using his death to forward a cause. Don't be ridiculous and claim I don't get that. I've said repeatedly I know what they're doing, but it's wrong.

So again, why do you have sympathy for a woman beating POS but none for the POS that killed him? Why do others here? I have none for either. Why was it "tragic" that Floyd died but funny when Chauvin is stabbed?

Why do I have sympathy for a person who was tortured on film and murdered? Because I'm not a sociopath...he was a person with a shady, criminal past but he did nothing to deserve what happened to him. Whatever he did, he faced the justice system for it and paid his debt to society.

I personally don't think Chauvin getting stabbed is funny or apappropriate...I also don't think Chauvin meant to kill Floyd but his actions were so retardedly incompetent his charge seemed light to me.

My main issue is that you don't seem to understand the reasoning behind why Floyd is such a symbolic figure. Again, nobody is exhaulting him (to the extent any majority of people even are) because of his dubious past.

This all started because Floyd decided to do drugs and be a criminal. Instead of learning from this and using it as an example to not be a criminal, it is was just used to push the agenda that cops are racists.
