Television Everybody loves Raymond vs king of queens

Man, I loved Danny. The best Danny moment was a Thanksgiving episode when he came over to Doug's and couldn't keep from watching football and started losing it at the dinner table.

I didn't realize until that show was in it's forth or fifth season that he was Kevin James' brother irl.

Yeah, he basically replaced Richie in the show. There is a theory on the net that Richie died in 9/11. He was a firefighter and he vanished around that time. I know the reality is that the actor who played him got a new show where he has a bigger part but it was canceled within a couple episodes. Danny already had taken the spot and was a better character.

So Robert dumped Stefania for Amy?

Yeah, that’s a hard no for me, chief.

Plus, I believe the woman who played Amy was actually married to the creator of the show.

RAymonds show did not age well .

Rather watch re runs of step by step or family matters.

I think it is still pretty funny. I actually watched the episode where Raymond and Robert argue who will Marie live with when Frank dies. The back and forth was classic.

great one. That’s the episode where Nick Offerman (Ron f’n Swanson) plays the guy with the eye patch. My favorite Danny moment though is on the episode where Doug encounters his high school girlfriend and, in order to prove her wrong about his immaturity during their relationship, tries to complete the song he is sure he wrote for her at the time.

Danny tries to workshop a synth rock version of the song to Doug’s horror.

One of my favorites. And that is the second to last season. Raymond is one of those rare shows that maintained a high standard all the way through the final season.

She can love you all she wants Raymond because you know what, I love her more than you do.

(Ray looks at him dead seriously): Are you insane?

Can’t stand Raymond. Hits too close to home with the worst Long Island stereotypes. I know too many Mothers like that, and Ray is a slug. King of Queens is funny as hell.

I like both. I enjoyed both.

KOQ show ending sucked IMO so I give slight nod to everybody loves Raymond for better show during run.

Now how about watching reruns?

I take ELR with ease over KOQ. I feel ELR aged better then KOQ.

Thoughts?
King of Queens.

One thing I liked about K of Q was that in spite of featuring the prototypical doof husband that is always fucking up... Carrie had her own faults and ate crow quite a bit in that show as well.

I didn't watch a ton of ton of ELR, but I just got the feeling Patricia Heaton's character was this, could do no wrong woman with a stick up her ass in every episode and the writers made sure it was like that all the time.

It alternated to in terms of who was the moral compass. Sometimes Doug would do something really insensitive and Carrie was in the right but there were other instances where he was clearly the more compassionate and voice of reason.

I recently watched the funny one with Jeanine Garofalo. That's Doug at his most sympathetic and Carrie at her least lol.

Really funny episode.

Ines is great isn't she?

Yeahhh. She's great. I'm going to miss her.

Remember the episode where Doug tells Carrie that he lies to her because he’s scared of her?

“I’ve gotta tell you, besides our marriage, I’m a pretty honest guy.”
Lol.

haha. That's great.

Deacon's deceptive voice message on that one always gets me: "Do you wanna live on the highway??!"

And Carrie intimidating Holly into admitting she's afraid of her.

Nicole Sullivan was pretty damn funny on that show too.

Yeah married to Phil Rosenthal, the co-creator.

To her credit, though, she did a good job on the show. Good character.

Raymond had some funny references to previous episodes, some of which were subtle.

Like on the episode where Robert realizes he can't stand Stefania, he ends up telling her to her face that she's annoying. She, with her limited English, doesn't know the word and presses him for what it means.

Then, on the later episode that season where Marie has Stefania, Amy, and Judy over to provide feedback as to what is wrong with Robert, Stefania describes him as "always with the face...the frowny, frowny face. It is annoying."

Or when Ray gets into the scuffle with Peggy, the tough scoutmaster (funny recurring character), Debra confronts her at the end and says, "Nobody beats up my husband." Then on any subsequent episode with Peggy, there would inevitably be a reference to her as the lady that beat Ray up.

Raymond- “Peggy?!? She’s my arch enemy!”
Robert-“Arch enemy? What are you, a super hero?”
Frank-“Yeah, Captain Big Nose!”
Robert” Im gonna blow you away!”

hahah

Peggy: So don't buy the dress. Allie can come to the party and be the only one not wearing one. She'll stand out like a gigantic nose on a stupid face.
