Television Everybody loves Raymond vs king of queens

Been watching a lot of King of Queens lately. Classic. Really had a great cast- lead and supporting.

It's weird to me that anyone would like ELR. The show was horrible. I wanted to watch Raymond punch the wife right in the nose. Family guy did a nice job of summing up the show. King of queens was great though. Arthur one of the GOATs.

See I never really got the hate for Debra. Look who she was married to. Ray was a funny character but he was never going to be in the running for husband of the year. And as the show progressed, his levels of indifference/obliviousness seemed to increase.

I really enjoy the show in the sense that all the actors had great chemistry. That’s one of those sitcoms where they got a ton of mileage out of a very basic setup. The locations rarely changed. The primary characters were a small group. But it worked.

I could see that it wasn’t for everyone though. A buddy of mine can’t stand to watch an episode lol.

I don't like either, but if forced to watch one I would go king of queens.

Frank alone destroys everyone

I really find Kevin James annoying, so I'd have to go with ELR. Though Jerry Stiller has to be one of the naturally funniest men ever.

I used to like ELR when I was younger. But I’ve been watching some reruns the last couple months, and I’ve come to the opinion that I can’t stand it anymore. EVERY episode is the exact same. Ahh grandma is overbearing, Rays a coward, woe is Robert, Jesse Debra is being overbearing, etc, etc, etc. I’ve really come to not be able to stand Robert and his annoying mannerisms any more.

King of Queens is so much better. It’s aged very well and is still hilarious. It followed the lead of my GOAT sitcom, Seinfeld’s, premise of not having any sad or emotional episodes. Just keep everything funny and neurotic. I agree the last season of King of Queens is terribly and I just don’t watch it. That’s the season they abandoned their formula and tried to get a serious tone.

King of Queens.

Probably a top five favorite show of mine

This is pretty much my opinion, word for word. I like them both, but don't enjoy watching ELR as much as I used to. They had a few creative episodes, but most of them revolved around the same basic story.
KOQ was just a better show to me, I still watch reruns nearly every day. Though I also agree the last season sort of sucked. And Carrie seemed to become bitchier as the show went on, she was like a different person the first few season, much more pleasant.

My wife thinks they made carrie dumber and controlling in early seasons. Then smarter and bitchy as later seasons went on.

Patricia Heaton is a babe and can really turn the heat up when she wants too, so I vote ELR.

Leah Remini never really did it for me and Kevin James is a Chris Farley knock-off.

TVland is awesome in that it has both shows in large blocks throughout the week. I was never a fan of 2 and a 1/2 men so it’s always a bummer if I flip there on Saturday expecting Raymond or KOQ and instead it’s Sheen and Cryer.

I really enjoy both. I’ve just seen every Raymond ep more times than I have Queens so Queens feels fresher to me. Though, I’m sure, at this point, I’ve seen every episode of that as well.

I always enjoy catching one I haven’t seen recently. Like a few weeks back I got the Raymond where Debra is running against Bill Parker (played by her real life husband) for school board President. Hilarious.

Last night, I caught one of my favorite early KOQ eps, where Doug is bored to tears spending time with Carrie’s friend’s husband and so he convinces Spence to move in temporarily to prevent them from staying over the Tgiving weekend.

One thing I liked about K of Q was that in spite of featuring the prototypical doof husband that is always fucking up... Carrie had her own faults and ate crow quite a bit in that show as well.

I didn't watch a ton of ton of ELR, but I just got the feeling Patricia Heaton's character was this, could do no wrong woman with a stick up her ass in every episode and the writers made sure it was like that all the time.

Arthur and Spence are great. Danny is funny too as well as Deacon.

I enjoy both shows, they both are hilarious.

Man, I loved Danny. The best Danny moment was a Thanksgiving episode when he came over to Doug's and couldn't keep from watching football and started losing it at the dinner table.

I didn't realize until that show was in it's forth or fifth season that he was Kevin James' brother irl.
