I said legal system, of which judges are a part. I get why there is the double standard and like I said before I don't even think its inherently wrong, I just think it should be backed by actual evidence before being implemented.
By the way, the disparity in sentencing that everyone is menstruating about on here is not really that outrageous.

The data about 72 men and 25 women also shows:
•Male defendants went to prison in 54 percent of cases compared with 44 percent of cases for female defendants;
•Men averaged 2.4 years in prison compared with 1.6 years in prison for women, or 50 percent more time;
•Ninety-three of the 97 cases ended in plea deals;
•€…Forty-seven cases ended in noncustodial sentences, which typically involved pre-trial intervention programs or probation.
So men went to prison 10% more often with about a 10 month difference in prison sentence. And some of that I'm sure is due to practical considerations like child rearing. For example in this case, the sentencing coincides with the kids Fathers custody arrangement (every other weekend). Not to mention the fact that nearly every case was plead out.
It's a disparity, but not a big one. Hardly worth getting worked up over.
