After LeBron and the Cavs won their first NBA championship for the city of celebs land....many reporters started saying that it was the first time Cleveland won a major sports championship

Now that is fucking disrespectful.

Stipe Miocic is a fireman who puts his life on the line and puts his body on the line day in day out to be an MMA fighter, and he is the current HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. How on earth would anybody not consider this a major accomplishment.

ESPN is acting like Stipe didn't win shit. Let's be honest here....MmA is much harder than Basketball will ever be and frankly I am very disappointed that MMA still doesn't get the respect it deserves

because mens basketball is a mainstream sport in the United States and mma is not... pretty simple.

ESPN has always been fucking terrible. I'm also a hockey fan and their coverage of the sport is hilariously bad.

MMA is objectively not harder than basketball. Think of the percentages.

When ESPN and others say stuff like that, they asssume (like 99.9% of the world's population) that the discussion is in regards to real sports

1. Look man. Winning an NBA title is a much bigger deal than a UFC belt. Beating Steph fucking Curry is a bigger deal than KOing Fabricio Werdum. Maybe in a perfect world it wouldn't be. But in the real world it is.

2. Did you know the Lake Erie Monsters playing in Cleveland won the Calder Cup this year? Are you dissing them?

3. Steph Curry with six months to train KOs Donald Cerrone with one punch. Draymond Green with six months to train KOs Miocic. LeBron KOs anyone in the UFC tonight, no training needed, without even wiping off the champagne.

Thats cause Lebron could beat him up with a month of training. Amirite? #alevelathlete

Don't feel bad, Joey Maxim wasn't included on that either and he beat Sugar Ray Robinson to win the title in 52. He's from Cleveland too.

He also won it earlier in 51 and 50, and had two regional titles in 49 and 48.

percentages??? What the fuck are you talking about

Be specific when bringing up numbers or don't bring them up at all

The simple fact is there is a large percentage of MMA fighters with injuries, with concussions, all so they can knowledge of severa different arts and compete at the highest level.

How many NBA players would ever survive a wrestling practice? boxing sparring?

And I don't mean how many would survive out of the blue...I mean with real coaching and starting from a young age. I bet you that percentage would be very low. Because it takes a certain someone with something unmeasurable to be successful in combat sports

this is like saying they won a championship when Bron won his first with Miami

How many MMA fighters are there? How deep is the talent pool? When do they start? The objective reality is that it is far more difficult for an aspiring basketball player to even make it into the NBA D-League than it is to win a UFC title.

Because Stipe Miocic is hard to pronounce. If he were named Steve Mitchell that would be a different story.

100%

But Lebron flops when they turn the AC on. I'm more curious if you think Lebron has the chin to withstand the impact of Curry's mouth guard.

John Buccigross is the only one who even knows anything about the sport of hockey over there

If Stipe could play basketball, he would. The athletes in MMA are lower quality.

If Lebron trained MMA, he would CRUSH Stipe. You know that's true.

It's just the way it is . It's the same in the U.K. If not worse. Mma is hardly recognised at all. Id be surprised if practically anyone knew we had a British champ
