I assumed that Christianity would be the default in the UK. Interesting. Our interactions with Christianity and "Christian" people are very different. Thanks for the insight.
For the Church of England (mainstream protestant) there are around 700,000 active church goers every week. Add in the various Baptist, Methodist, other non-catholic denominations and you'd be just over a million, my guess is add maybe half a million catholics to that, max, so it's like 2% of the population
And those huge mega churches with multi millionaire CEOs I mean 'pastors', not only are they unheard of they'd be unthinkable here.
