He's going to keep saying "free exchange of ideas" because he's pretty ignorant and doesn't really know what that looks like.
Kirk and Crowder didn't exchange ideas, they rehearsed rhetorical tricks and attacks and were there to score points and "win". Kirk specifically relied on appeal to faith so that he didn't have to prove anything or make points that could be factually disputed, and he had a short list of "gotcha" questions designed to make his opponents do all the work. He loved answering questions with questions.
Kirk only "debated" a very narrow list of topics, but he still couldn't handle anyone educated and prepared.
He invited their professors to come to the mic if they wanted.
never gave three shits about the guy but open debate with college students of this generation was and still is necessary.
